Shoutout to selfshippers whose self inserts are their real selves. As in:

Alters who look different from the body they reside in

Nonhumans who refuse to associate with the human body they're constrained to

Trans/nonbinary people who depict their transition goals, especially if they can't or haven't achieved them yet

And possibly other things I have yet to mention here!

imagine that whenever they come across a post of/about your species, they like to send it to you saying it's you, because they embrace and respect your nonhumanity. they help you with your dysphoria, if you have it. they would never judge you for who you are.

I feel like we don't talk enough about selfshipping as a form of alterhumanity, which is odd considering the amount of alterhuman selfshippers I've come across.

For clarity: Alterhuman is an umbrella term that means any experience that isn't "typically" human, which includes but does not exclusively mean nonhuman. It's an opt-in term, so anybody that wants to identify as alterhuman can do so.

Therefore, if you feel that your selfship goes beyond being for fun and is a genuine connection to a character, that can make you alterhuman. With that being said, it's entirely your discretion to call yourself alterhuman and you should treat this post as a suggestion and not a mandatory order.
