Think of a big decision you made in your past and imagine you made an alternative choice. What would your life be like now?
I always wondered what life would be like if I never went Goth and listen to metal. I think my life would be really boring and suffocating. I would still be a preppy girl who likes boy bands and continue on being fake, bland, and annoying. I probably would had been able to make more friends but then end up being into drugs, having sex at a young age, and being influenced becoming a bully. I would had lost my best friend because we would be so different. I would had made fun of her too with everyone, calling her fat and ugly.
In all honesty, I think I would had been miserable not being my authentic self. Back then I was trying to find a place I belonged in. And I found it in a place that allowed me to not have restrictions on my aesthetic. Being a prep means you have to follow what everyone said or do by peer pressure. As a Goth, I found happiness in creativity, literature, and fashion by going against social norm conformity.
