Why is there a Vehicon Mafia in Mercy?

I wanted other bots to fear Vehicons when the bumbling troopers got their shit together. I made their leader a common car Vehicon to show how far the most common and forgettable Vehicon could rise (by becoming a criminal mastermind that other Decepticons follow)

This idea started developing in 2021, but originally I was just going to have the Vehicon (Altero) be a modified Vehicon who would sell you sketchy shit (2020 thoughts). He became more and more powerful and I was loving it

How often will the Vehicons (I think you know where this is going, and specifically who I'm asking about~) show up in prominent moments of Mercy?

You know by now how much of a big fan I am of how you write them~

The Vehicons star in one storyline in particular (like a big Vehicon story), just like how Overlord and Sunder have their own storylines. However, Mercy is an interconnected game where elements from all paths bleed into each other, and to fully discover the world, you have to play everything. Vehicons are always sneaking around and you can see it when you squint.

Vehicon individuality is always a theme though, never to be missed. The Vehicon mafia boss who named himself Altero makes minor appearances in most paths such as the Overlord and Sunder ones (he is already in them). He does come with a good Vehicon backstory, but it's to be discovered on that particular storyline I mentioned.

Vehicons are always working behind the scenes and start to affect politics and police in stories that take place further on the timeline.

Here is one example for you of Vehicons influencing all events of the game:

Overlord's Vehicons in the Space Adventure Storyline:

They beat up Autobots and you can see where their skills came from. They seem to just be minor characters

Overlord's Vehicons after the SA Storyline (effect of bringing them to Cybertron):

They train other Vehicons how to fight and cause a ripple effect as hundreds of previously non-threatening troopers become major threats. The entire Decepticon faction gains power and could fight to takeover Cybertron

Just what I have in my head right now but I could be forgetting someone major. This is for specific characters who reveal deep stories about themselves that are OUCH

And here is that “OUCH” list. I guess the order can be argued but I’ll base it on how bad it makes you feel and how much it fucked up the characters:
