Always a Runner wins the 2026 Kentucky Oaks!

Always A Runner lived up to all of Chad Brown's hype to win the 2026 Kentucky Oaks!
I'm not usually a fan of such lightly raced horses in such big races, but the story of Always A Runner missing her planned 2yr old campaign because she had to overcome almost dying from pneumonia was something to root for. What a cool filly.
No luck for Percy's Bar (7th) but my consolation prize was Gun Runner daughter Always a Runner over Gun Runner daughter Meaning 😁

Big congrats to José Ortiz and Always a Runner! My picks were Prom Queen, who ended up 5th, and Bella Ballerina, who was scratched. It was still a good race! Can’t wait for the Derby tomorrow
I've just finished a long fic, a very nice one actually.
And this feeling is exactly why I don't read long fics.
Feeling like I'm not living, just surviving, screwing my life wiith, well, doing nothing, waiting for God knows what.
Also, it brought memories. Good and bad. And also today's trip, another memories, mixing all together, making me think about 27th October 2009 (i know it coz it was my bday) when it was the last time I was in Vieanna, until today.
things were different, I had a big crush on this woman, one of the three persons I'm still in contact from my high school. I didn't know I was gay. I thought I was just looking for understanding, help, a friend.
Who would say that so many years after, the short messages we exchange now and then few times a year and her using the nick name of my name that's used for little girls would make me smile.
She's the one who made me realise about 2 years ago that I've changed, I grew up and that the reason was not only love but also pain, probably mostly pain and I know she knows that. And since that lots more pain happened and I'm here thinking about it now and I don't know why but there's no emotions in the memories, no regret, anger, love and it's confusing because I have no idea why I keep thinking about it.
This should have been a short post about me reading a fic.
This is the reason why I not only read long stories but why I don't read long teacher/student AUs.
Once A Runner, Always A Runner
I really miss running.... a lot a lot :(
not so much the working out part bc i can still do that.... just being on a team, bonding with my team & the track. I really miss it. This is the first time in 11 years that I haven't been on some type or team running.....
I knew that i wouldnt run on a team forever but after the team i use to run on's season just started its starting to set in how much i really miss it.
I know once a runner, always a runner & you always have that sense of team pride and camaraderie but i can honestly say its just not the same. I feel like there's something missing.
I wanna maybe try & join DSU track team next year but at the same time i feel like the track chapter of my life is coming to a close & i gotta just learn to grown uo and accept.
But like i said before, Once a runner, Always a runner
My love for my sport remains ♥
Success isn't how far you got, but the distance you traveled from where you started.
Pre
Half of the run today was spent battling a jet stream, felt as thought I was going to get swept up like Dorothy and dropped in the middle of the Atacama Desert. But 14 miles was the result, for the first time ever!
