writing trope: The Mortifying Ordeal of Forgiving Themselves
Stargirl fans everywhere,
I was having a very unhappy Halloween yesterday when the news broke. Spent a good fifteen minutes in tears. I’d been wary of the show ending with season 3, but not because I didn’t have faith in it. Communications taught me that things like mergers and rebranding can spell trouble. Sometimes entire lineups get purged. So here we are.
But I don’t wanna get stuck here. I know the show has been shopped around with no such luck. I’ve also seen shows, DC's in particular, be revived. I’m hoping we can make enough noise to change the course of things. Have the show continue, even if it takes on a new media form.
And in the meantime, we’ll continue to create content. To let the cast and crew know the impact the story they brought to life has on us, show off our skills, and continue to build the community. ‘Cause the thing about a legacy is, as it goes down the line, it does change shape. But legacies don’t die…
