I have the headcanon that Le Paradox Senior tried to escape prison multiple times, but always failed and that he died during an argument with another inmate. The guy pushed him heavily, he fell and he endep up breaking his neck. Cyrille only found out about his father's death went he went to prison himself. And agreed on the fashion sense.

I forget what the timeline was exactly, but may I suggest: Cyrille found out about his father’s death because he was (inadvisably) sent to the same prison as Papá, and said argument and sicknasty necksnap happened in front of him on his first day there
