In a ship racing through the emptiness of space, an artificial Emerald, who’s only purpose was to be the Diamond’s Crystal Gem Bounty Hunter, a lowly green artificial Emerald made his way to a little planet named Earth. He was having a bit of trouble steering since he’d smacked into an asteroid not a while back.
The back of the craft was badly broken, well to him anyway, it looked more like a huge gash on the side of the angler ship that fit actual Emeralds. He was only given this ship to capture some, if not all, of the Crystal Gems he could get his hands on, and if he didn’t, his punishment would be shattering. The high emerald made that very clear, and it was directly from Yellow herself. Or as far as he heard.
The artificial emerald grumbled to himself as he held tightly onto one of the nobs he was using to control the ship and winced each time he heard a soft sputter come from the back. His face was covered by a hooded cloak that he wore with his Yellow Diamond Court attire and his body matched the green hues of the other emeralds. Only, his emerald was located on his scorpion like tail and he was jagged in certain places to make him look like he wasn’t freshly cut like other gems. To others, he’d technically be considered an Off-Color, but he was an Artificial Emerald. All the others shunned him. But as far as anyone knew, he was the best Off-Color bounty hunter they had ever made.
His green eyes glanced over the screens and his other clawed hand started tapping at the buttons on the dash. With a swift movement forward, he leveled out the ship that was slightly veering off course to keep it headed to his destination. He looked strong, and he did look as if he had muscle, and it showed when he kept the nob in place to keep the ship as straight as possible.
To his slight annoyance, he wasn’t at Earth yet, and his eyes kept snapping to the damage screen that was flashing to his right. The ship had so much damage, he’d have to repair it if he was able to land properly. It was a good thing they added mechanical smarts and navigation and a lot of other helpful things into his Artificial Gem. His face cringed again as his hand forced the traveling nob back into place and turned his head to one of the other screens to the left and pressed a few buttons there. His eyes would glance at the damage counter every few seconds, all up until the entire ship did this harsh crashing motion as it entered Earth’s atmosphere.
With a hiss from the Off-Color, and a loud boom from the back, the ship blew and began barreling down to the surface and before he knew it, he was flying through the front window of the ship and smashed into a tree, knocking him out.
He lay there out cold, and then his body retreated into his gem and it stayed there resting, gently pulsing with light as little flowers grew around it. Another power they’d added, but why nature of all things? Was he going to stay here in a heap of rubble not to be found? The ship burning and crumbling around him? Who would help him? If they even cared to. He’d see soon enough.
