Whippin’ werk/werkin’ miracles under the Gunn like I’m on Project Runway, Michael Kors about to shred me, but the blood, sweat & tears, the tiny bits of my heart, the slivers of my soul, I hand stitched with diligence & great care into this fabulous feathered fantasy gown, My best efforts I contentedly contribute to making these glamour girls & movie starlets feel like the super stars & divas that they are. To be honest it doesn’t matter who’s who to me. Some are kind & aware, some are mannerless monsters. Either way, I take great pride & pleasure in doing my job, so that they can do theirs. Like, some people are supposed to be famous & frivolous & be kinda late most of the time. They’re not supposed to overthink about the details of how this dress of her dreams can become a reality. She’s supposed to effervescence & giggle & get paid buckets of money to do what she loves, what she was blessed enough to have the opportunity to do. And I’m supposed to use my magic hands and cunning creative cognitive capabilities to do the impossible, to turn water into wine, but with fabric & feathers & “can you have it done by yesterday!?!”. I can’t and don’t want to do her job & I’m certain she feels the same about mine. I love being behind behind behind the scenes/lost under a thousand miles of silk georgette. and I don’t have the need to be praised for my specific technical work. I just make it happen, and I do it from my heart because I find extreme satisfaction in contributing to the joy and sparkle of others. And of course this is my job, and I do get paid, but I mean, seeing the look of total confidence & delight on the face of this uber babe, watching her post countless videos of herself prancing around in this dress, I know for certain that she felt like a fucking princess superstar bad bitch gives me a deep satisfaction. And I could care less if she knows who I am or how many hours I spent sewing in order to help give her that feeling.
