my secsam for madetolooklikeus
after an exhausting afternoon
[image id: drawing of arrell and alyosha; the former sitting on a sofa holding a book up to read, the latter napping with a head in arrell’s lap. there’s a candle on the wall that is not yet lit, though it’s visibly getting dark. arrell is in a purple robe and alyosha is wearing a linen shirt and is covered with a blanket. the room has wooden floors and a green wallpaper. end id]
Ive been sketching like crazy trying to finish this sketchbook before it falls apart so heres some of the better ones, ft maelgwyn shows up at the university and ephrim is so mad about him flirting with his not-boyfriend au courtesy of my secret samol gift (thank u matt :,) )
i will not let your memory be still stone in my mind,
but will treat you instead as as a river in my heart
[image id: a drawing of alyosha and arrell standing at a beach. they are both older, arrell with a greyish skin and alyosha with a beard and greying hair. alyosha reaches out a hand to hesitating arrell, and there is a close up of their fingertips touching below, alyosha’s plants curling around his arms and reaching out to arrell’s hand. there are two suns in the sky. the text in the image reads: a path to follow towards a bright, distant sea. end id]
unsent letters from the end of the world
it's secret samol time!!! following up on six years of being a menace about alyosha/arrell in @suedeuxnim 's mentions I have written a little post canon epistolary alyarr. putting my money where my mouth is! I wish I could have written for all of their absolutely wonderful prompts bc they were all a delight.
It feels a bit absurd to close and reopen a letter that I will never send, and could not even if I wanted to. Mail service works rather differently, here at the end of the world. And in truth I am not entirely sure why I continue to write a man who died years ago, in that paroxysm of one world ending and another beginning, and who was an irregular correspondent even in life. I am at the end of my own life now, and there does come with that knowledge a desire to tie up loose ends. We none of us are ever able to end things as neatly as we might like.
Several letters found in Alyosha's desk.
