don’t imagine snuggling up with him under as many blankets as you can stand, enjoying the weight and warmth while you’re close to each other. don’t think about talking to each other sleepily, making each other laugh and being silly even though you know you should be resting. don’t think about how at ease you are when you’re like this, shutting out the outside world and only thinking about this little moment with each other

don't imagine cooking with steel-- he is awful at it, but he can help with all the prep work. it's fun watching him chop things up like a professional chef (and then burn it if you let him near a stove). after you can enjoy your freshly home-cooked meal and watch silly videos, laughing and teasing each other, and trying to keep his cats from eating your food when you're not looking. your laugh is his favorite sound in the whole world, and it makes his soul ache every time he gets to hear it

don't imagine slow dancing with him to the radio during a nighttime picnic. he went through the effort of getting everything ready and picking the best spot to see the stars. you appreciate the effort, and even though you're both awkwardly holding on to each other and the music is static-y it's still perfect. you can see him blushing and the star-like freckles that the purple flush reveals on his face, and perhaps at the end of the song you'll give him a little kiss on the cheek to fluster him even more

↹ for a best friend headcanon

Alyr was probably the last person Theran would have ever chosen to speak to in any given room full of random strangers. He was loud, abrasive, crude and had delusions of grandeur.

In the end though, all of that was irrelevant because Alyr had decided that he would make friends with this audacious asshole who not only dared to not apologize for bumping into him, but got away from him too! And because Alyr is Alyr, he eventually tracked Theran down through sheer perseverance and declared in the middle of the alley that Theran was his new friend and therefore he must teach him how to jump and climb like that. 

Even now, Therrant has to grudgingly admit that it was the one time being betrayed by his quiet voice worked out for the better.
