It’s so funny to me that some people picture Alex Turner as this pretentious, boring prick, when Alex’s really just like:

If AM are making a new album, I hope it's a re-recording of Whatever People Say I Am in the style of The Car just to piss off all the Barries from Birmingham who litter the comments section of any AM post with complaints about how much they hate the last two albums and they need to get back to their roots...

everyone freaking out over AM8 but i genuinely dont think its happening, my guess is its for the collaboration project for warchild which ian mcandrew announced, produced by james ford
my proposal for am8 to both correspond with the progression of the band thus far and to capitalize off of some underutalized mechanisms within their most recent albums would be this: a 2-3 hour concept album entirely from the perspective of a little earthworm living in a plastic, see-through ball; his own little microcosm, floating on the waves of every major ocean in the world. he travels to the shore of every country but never leaves his plastic globe and in the endalways gets washed back out to the great blue beyond. some tracks are up to twenty-five minutes, and some are only thirty seconds. some have vocals but some are entirely instrumental with big, sweeping orchestras blaring in beautifully cinematic harmony. but then in the middle of the album there is an eight minute drum solo with matthew j heldrers iii just going ABSOLUTELY HAM on those fuckin drums. drum fill after drum fill, a full minute of alternating between crash cymbal, ride cymbal, and cowbell. he can even sing a bit if he wants to, entirely in falsetto. anyway i think this would make a negative million dollars and i would get the spotify qr code for the album lasered into my gravestone
