11, 17, 26, and 29 for amadeus and juniper?

11. What are your character’s coping mechanisms?

juniper drinks. he smokes. he pretends he doesn’t exist by just staring at a wall for a couple of hours. he goes out into a forest or clearing and just. lets himself have a moment. it’s just kind of his daily life.

amadeus blocks everything out! he’ll act as if nothing’s wrong, everything’s a-ok, and just make some music or write some shit down. if he’s at home he’ll go to teo. maybe spend way too much money.

17. Is your character afraid of death? Why/why not?

juniper both is and isn’t. but he’s accepted that any day could possibly be his last and he’s almost waiting for it. he really doesn’t see himself living that much longer.

amadeus is scared fucking shitless of it. his life has really only just begun. he doesn’t want to lose the endless possibilities he has now. not to mention, you know, the whole aging thing. his mom’s gonna outlive him. his siblings are gonna outlive him. all of his friends are, most likely, going to outlive him. he doesn’t like talking about how old he is because he realizes he has way less time to achieve what he wants. he just wants to live forever.

26. What, in your character’s life, puts the most pressure on them?

the vravonic church, for one. juniper is kind of constantly surrounded by the pressure of....the church being the state. and him being pushed to certain expectations and behaviors because of him being marked.

himself. amadeus holds himself up to the highest standards. he has to be better than what his family thought he was going to be! he has to be better for himself, he has to be constantly improving, constantly doing better than he did the previous day. right now, he thinks he’s failing at that.

29. What is their weapon of choice, and what weapon do they dislike using the most?

juniper is a sorcerer. that’s really all he can do. he has a dagger for personal protection, and a staff he misplaced [but found!], but that’s really it. he dislikes his magic the most. it’s really all he’s had.

amadeus uses a nice fancy boy rapier! he totally didn’t steal it from his family’s estate when he left in the middle of the night and spent the next couple of weeks learning how to actually use it! also his magic, which he’s particularly fond of [we saw just earlier today how excited he got that the new trick worked!!]. he dislikes the rapier, only because he still hasn’t gotten a new one since he left home. things have been resettled, but it’s still a walking reminder of what was.

20. What is the biggest mistake your character has ever made?

junie would probably say, after his very fun dream with tymon, not trying harder to find him after graduating. maybe letting himself not react like he did during his first graduation.

amadeus knows it’s the manner in which he left his family. mainly the state he learned he left his mother in, and the fact that they just thought he was dead.

32. What is your character the most insecure about?

OH WHAT A FUN ONE. amadeus doesn’t like to show his insecurities! youd think for being a mentally ill bard itd be him not thinking his art isnt great enough but he’s really insecure about his outward appearance! about how others view him! not even physically, just....how he handles his body and interacts with others. esp after meeting the party and getting...kinda criticized on a lot of things he does!!

67. What is your character the most envious about, regarding anyone in the party?

hi ok. this is simple. he’s incredibly envious of several party members’ healthy relationships with their families. that’s it!

64. What is your character’s opinion on killing others?

oh juniper has a real complicated relationship with this. he...kinda really hates it! but also was like. kind of trained to be this deadly weapon. it’s most of the time the easiest way out of a situation. he still thinks abt the innocents he ended up killing alongside of vargus in the rebellion, but not vargus.

98. What advice would your character give to a younger version of themselves?

“stay strong and don’t look back. this is what your life is now. it’s not easy, but if you grin and bear it, you’ll find exactly where you belong.”

19. What were your character’s deepest disillusions? In life? What are they now?

amadeus definitely had disillusions about his family. i mean for years he thought “hey! this is normal!” and then vina and korren came along and it was like “hm kind of weird but we’re all treated differently :)” and then he befriended soleil and it was a very large reality shock that like, being treated like you don’t exist and are lower than your “family” isn’t normal and is quite fucked up! he doesn’t really let himself get his hopes up for anything anymore. (also, opposite, illusioned himself about his importance after realizing that! really took him until very recently that maybe he is meant to be something in the world!)

juniper, on the other hand, doesnt have many! he takes things at their worst and then they get improved. he....definitely was disillusioned abt the institute though lol. oh, an academy to help me control my magic? i’m so excited! [gets there and it’s essentially like a fucking prison where they strip you of all emotions] oh :(

22. Who are their friends? Lovers? ‘Type’ or ‘ideal’ partner?

as of right now, amadeus would consider the hype squad his friends!! esp now that they know his ~backstory~ and he knows he can actually trust them. we all know he’s a cuffed man to teo <3 he just wants someone who lets him be himself and doesn’t care about his past!! someone to just be soft with!!

juniper has 3 4 friends. ori. dyma. alba. pen. shocking to him! he wouldn’t use the word friend, he’d dodge around it with everything he could. “i just feel like i dont need to be on guard around them”, etc. but theyre his friends. even penance. his type is someone who will take care of him!!!! be slow with him!!!! understand he’s not perfect and help him work through things. someone who appreciates him for him and doesn’t see the scar or all the negativities that comes with it!

35. Do they always rationalize errors? How do they accept disasters and failures?

so you see the thing is amadeus is not a rational man. he takes shit personally. he will Dodge Around the fact that he made a mistake or failed or whatever but like 4 hours later when he’s completely alone in his room he’s going to beat himself the fuck up about it. he won’t rationalize shit. he won’t accept shit. just be negative. [gives him some therapy]

juniper also takes it very personally. and very very much internalizes it. he’s not perfect, he knows, but he should be especially after the 13 years spent at the institute. beats himself up internally and lets it fester in himself. he should be better, he shouldn’t have failed like that, etc. then an eventual surge, forced or not.
