She told me Jonathan Tropper wanted Mel’s season two spiral to get into menopause, invisibility, empty-nest panic, and the weird violence of being looked past, but without stopping the show for a tidy little message. Peet said she loved being able to “safely act psychotic without really hurting anyone,” which has got to be fun.

Pedro Pascal found out about Oberyn Martell role from acting student he was coaching, had Sarah Paulson show his tape to Amanda Peet to get Game of Thrones role.
I don't think this is "stealing" the role from the kid. He still got to audition. You gotta use all the connections you have! I mean, maybe he should've asked Sarah to show both tapes to Amanda but fresh out of acting school is too young to play Oberyn.
I am on his side. We are lucky that we got a good Oberyn. Bless you Sarah Paulson.
