wyd when my gang pull up
I wanted to dress like Amanda Thripp so bad as a kid. I think if I figure out sewing, I'll make this shit myself and then wear it all the fucking time
i recently played tommy in matilda the musical, so here's some of my favorite quotes from backstage as the people who said them:
Miss Honey: "i hate annie. not the show, the orphan."
~~~
Hortensia #3: "The Trunch: non binary icon"
~~~
Tommy: "your boobs are gonna mess up my hair"
~~~
Laila: "stop crying jenna. you're dead."
~~~
Hortensia #2: "you're trans. just say it"
~~~
Matilda: "IM NOT HOMOPHOBIC!!! IM STRAIGHT!!!!"
~~~
Mrs. Phelps: "my mom WAS gonna diy abortion me, but-"
~~~
Tommy: "he wasn't good enough to not DIE"
~~~
Trunchbull: "Trunch? OUT"
~~~
Lucas: "yeah, so i'm trying to find a trump moodboard-"
~~~
Mrs. Wormwood (Matilda stand-in): "1x2 is 2. 2x2 is 2. 3x2 is 2. 4x2 is 2. 5x2 is 2. 6x2 is 2-"
~~~
Just Some Kid: "wheel of cheese is my favorite cheese"
~~~
Lucas: "hey, what books would you lick?"
Ngl all the child torture going on in Matilda (Roald Dahl) feels kind of disturbing. Like, there's a difference between the cartoonish "throwing a girl by her pigtails" and stuff like holding a little boy off the ground by his ears, or holding your little niece's head below the water when giving her a bath or, ya'know, locking kids up inside a tiny narrow cupboard with nails on the walls and pieces of broken glass where they can't even sit down or see a thing for hours on end to the point where they can barely think straight or even speak when they are let out feels a bit too– I lost track of where I was going with this
Brilliant movie. I’ll definitely be watching it again.
Matilda (1996)
Any fan of Matilda? I watched this movie as a kid, and it was such an inspiration for me. I love the film. I was part of my childhood.
I wanted to be so much like Matilda (her powers as well haha)
