   she needed him to stay, & his lips falling against hers only served as a reminder of just how badly she needed him to stay. the fear she felt slowly subsided until it was forgotten. as long as he stayed right there, & they stayed as they were; lips moving against lips, the rest would always be just noise. her hands came to rest on the sides of his shirt & they quickly clenched at the fabric there; ensuring that she would keep him close. it didn’t matter to her who would see or what they would say. if anything she silently hope that the two of them just looked like a young couple showcases their love through actions rather words; which is exactly what they were in that moment.

   as they stood there in the middle of the sidewalk getting lost in the realm of each other, he wasn’t lee taemin & she wasn’t his secret girlfriend. they were a boy & girl who loved each other; a man & a woman who had fallen on a rough patch but were slowly getting up to build themselves back up. it wasn’t always easy, but when their lips were pressed against each other it all reminded her how much it mattered. but this kiss was different. it was more than just a declaration of love. it felt more like a statement. his mouth was moving against hers in a rush & rough fashion; one that she almost couldn’t keep up with. & his grip on her cheeks continued to tighten & tighten until she found it difficult to pull away. but the need for air was too apparent, & her body fought him off.

   breathing heavy she placed her hands on his chest & peered up to him with eyes full of confusion (with a hint of fear). she wasn’t sure how she was meant to react to such a touch, she hadn’t ever experienced that from anyone. especially not from taemin. ❝ what’s going on with you? ❞ she breathed, her chest rising & falling as she tried to capture the breath that kept running away from her the more she thought about harshness in his touch. ❝ i love you. ❞ she felt the need to remind him; perhaps as a way to coax the softer side (the side she knew well) back out of him.

   it was so easy for genie to fall into a world where taemin was hers, & hers alone. a place where she didn’t have to share him with four other band members, & (certainly not) millions of adoring fans ready to rip her limb from limb should they ever find out about their relationship. he was hers whenever that door shut, nobody would see the way he looked at her, nobody would hear the declarations of love he’d whisper to her, nobody would feel the way her heart pumped at twice the speed whenever his hands roamed her body —— & it was bittersweet. to some degree genie enjoyed the solitude that came with the secret, but lately it felt more like a burden rather than a necessity. but she continued to remind herself how she needed to do this for taemin; her feelings would just have to take a backseat.

   a giggle protrudes from her freshly kissed lips as taemin answers her question. she starts the motion to pull away, make another comeback in response to his taunt, but his lips are soon moving against hers once more & she’s forgotten what it was they were discussing in the first place. her arms tighten their grip around him & she’s pulling herself as close as humanly possible, needing to be as close to him as their bodies would allow them to be & then his words filled her ears & swelled her heart. despite the need for more of him she found the strength to pull away from him to capture his eyes, wanting him to peer into her as she spoke. ❝ i love you so much, taemin. you know that right? you have to know that. you’re the only one i’ll ever want. ❞

   he despised attending these types of functions. the ones where he had to paint on a bright smile, discuss finances with men he didn’t know, and sway the hearts of girl’s he didn’t care for; all to keep up with the famous gyeong name. he was sculpted to endure topics such as merging companies, and arranged marriage deals that would better benefit g-tech (all of which fell through). hanni was next in line for the throne, after all, which meant the continued success of his father’s work fell on his shoulders. it was a weight he wasn’t sure if his shoulders could carry just yet, but it wasn’t like he was given much say in the manner anyway. 

   it was times like this were his mind would wander back to the nights he would spend in the company of taeyeon. it wasn’t unlike hanni to keep company in his bed every night, but the same company for more than two nights straight was something unheard of; what was even more peculiar was that he found it increasingly difficult to let her leave. each time se would move to go he would cling onto her as if it would be the last time he saw her; and one night it was. she wanted more than he was able to give her then, wanted more than he was able to even give her now. but as he stood in the corner of the bar, eyes scanning across the room, he silently hoped for a chance to see her again. to fix what he had ruined, but quietly. it always had to be quietly.

   if he were religious he would have said it was an answer from the heavens that she appeared before him then. at first he thought it was just another daydream, multiple times he had thought he caught her silhouette in the hallway, or seen her face in the crowd while searching for familiarity but as he looked away only to look back she still stood there. and if he needed more proof the sound of her laugh floating through the room and to his ears was all the indicator he needed. without much thought, and running solely on impulse, his pushed though the crowds of people to land himself in front of her, a smile washing over his face as tired as met hers. “ taeyeon.. ” it was the first thing he could manage to say before his head bowed in a greeting. “ i.. um — i never thought i’d see you again... how’ve you been? ”

— && ; (&` she blinked a few more times, getting back to the reality, yet for a few more seconds she was looking at him in awe; she cleared her throat thinking of how dumb she probably looked at the moment yet she regret nothing. at least, not meeting him at all; and then her rosy lips slightly opened, finally giving him a chance to hear her voice ) i’m- yes.. s-sorry, i just- i’m a big fan..

chorong felt bad at how tired her mother looked, slumped in that hospital chair. it had been two weeks since she had been re-admitted to the hospital. the cancer was taking a stronger toll on her body, and yet, she wasn’t ready to give up. she loved life, and she would do everything she could to enjoy it to the fullest. she rang up a nurse to ask if it would be okay if she walked around a bit. she was tired, but mostly still able to walk short distances in the hospital. with the iv still stuck in her, chorong began to wander down the halls, not paying any attention to where she was going when she ran smack into someone. “i’m so sorry!” she exclaimed, bowing her head as she looked up to find a handsome male standing in front of her.
