reason: they complete each other so well, in a twisted yet heartwarming sort of way. this version of Salieri is divided between the false rumours of him killing Mozart that unfortunately defined his legacy, and his real-life self that was on neutral, perhaps even friendlier terms.

also Salieri says he loved, respected & admired Mozart during the story he was introduced in, and what more do you need than that?
