Personal take: I read this book not long after coming out as trans, and man did some of the themes vibe with all of my queer identity and my sense of humor. The entire story revolves around identity, personhood, and the journey that shapes who you are. It’s got some truly amazing funny moments, and more harsh, darker moments. This is one of those books that sucks you in for the ride and you come out of it 12 hours later feeling like you’ve lived 4 lifetimes.

This was fabulous. I'm not usually one for romance but this drew me in and wouldn't let me go. The pacing was fantastic. Parts kept me on the edge of my seat as they were supposed to. Other parts had my emotions swinging from anger to melting joy at how the two main characters handled themselves.

I'm trying so hard to not give away anything because I just want to gush about the story in detail, but don't want to spoil it for those who plan on reading this!

Go read this when its available on June 25. Whether it's digital or physical copy, you have to read thisbook.

Every once in a while the song of Achilles or Achilles and Patroclus, anything related to it really will come up somehow, either on Pinterest here or my fyp.

It’s almost like reading it again, it rips up my heart, tears the stitch’s then replaces them again for next time.

Their story is so full of love and sadness I’m filled with the same emotions when I read and learned about it. I have never come across a book written quite like and I don’t think I ever will nor would I want to.

This book is in a league of its own. I would not be surprised it somehow became a classic or taught. I have never been truly able to answer the question of “what’s your favorite book” until I read it. I did not know at first. It is the type of book you find yourself thinking about long after you read wishing to read it as if it were the first time again.

I have never been the biggest fan of rereading books, maybe I just never found a book I felt I could reread with the same joy I first did. That is no longer true with this book. It’s been a few months since I read it and I don’t know if this feeling will ever be stolen from but I’m not sure I want it to. I feel like I could read this story till the end of time.

It is without a doubt the best written story I have ever read. I do not believe I am the best with words but I had to try to put this feeling in words for it truly deserves it. Thank you Madeline Miller for becoming a writer.
