Rose and Violet is doing a better job with tying the Third Semester into the whole story than Royal ever did.
I am at the Kasumi reveal scene, and its a little "spinning in circles around the cutscene" but I think it only feels that way because its a little wordy, but also because I've played the vanilla game.
The Third Semester is all of Kasumi and Sumire's story together finally coming to fruition and being answered, and its all connected to the Palace's Ruler (to not spoil who that is)
I dont know how it is in other Persona games, I've only played Royal, but I dont know if other protagonists has had Palaces that are all about them.
Sure, Shido is about Joker, but Shido is also about everything else that has happened. He just happened to also have been a bit more personal ruining Joker's life, while just indirectly doing that for everyone else.
This Third Semester Palace in the Rose and Violet mod? Its all about Kasumi (me, the player) and Sumire. And it has been building up with the Faith confidant and Sumire story moments through the whole game.
Its so good.
Third Semester feels like a side piece, like an after dinner snack in Royal. A little bonus.
In Rose and Violet it feels like everything that has been odd about Sumire - my sister - as well as my(as the protagonist/Kasumi's) own backstory is unraveling right now after so much buildup has been scattered here and there through the rest of the year.
The first time Kasumi meets Sumire in the game, she feels that Sumire is acting wierd. Its not a little hint at the end of rank 5 of the Faith Confidant, its way before the Faith Confidant is even unlocked that this buildup starts.
And its finally unraveling in the Third Semester.
