💕Radhakrishna💕
Drew them for my bestfriend's birthday thought to post it here as well!
I find it so funny that a lot of modern day portrayals of RadheKrishna show them as the peak "sanskari couple" as if in many stories they weren't secretly sneaking out to meet each other and also cross dressing a lot,lol 😭
They portray Radha as this docile ultrasubmissive "omg Im so weak and dainty" woman when I imagine her as more of the bisexual version of those hyperfem lesbians who happen to dress vintage and constantly get tradwife allegations.
Also mind you they not only cross-dressed, they also became sapphic and achillean versions of their relationships (Radha as Gadadhar for the mlm Radhakrishna and Krishna as Mohini for the wlw Radhakrishna)
Something I do not like at all is some "bhakts" trying to prove Radharani superior to devi Lakshmi like ??? They are the SAME.
I love Radharani okay but I don't need to feel bad or wrong for feeling more connected to Lakshmi Maa. And you can have your beliefs but why go around changing stories, twisting narrative and showing the ashtabharayas as inferior or materialistic?
Krishna loves Devi Rukmini as much as Radharani and all his wives, what do you not understand?!! Gaudiya vaishnavism has glorified only the workship of Radhakrishna and it overshadowed pretty much everything else.
And I am always a bit sad and petty about what could have been, we could have had so many temples dedicated to the ashtabharayas and more stories and poetries for them, have them being known in mainstream culture but we don't and that disappoints me to no end! Heck most people don't even know who Devi Rukmini and ashtabharayas are and it saddens me, they deserves so much better!
If you feel connected to shree radha that's good! But stories like how Lakshmi maiya cannot enter Vrindavan cuz only madhuraya bhava can be present here not Aishwarya bhava and I am like excuse me?!??! Devi Lakshmi is the Supreme goddess! She is the jagadjanani? How is that she cannot enter Vrindavan!? It makes no sense whatsoever! I could go on about this ugh!
@gudbud
nope no he wasn't. he was in vrindavan only till 13 (going by ack comics).
but then again pick up most of the serials where krishna is there in vrindavan, its always krishna aged up to be much more than 13 (he even looks it) but his age isn't specified at all.
my speculation/opinion is that. when serials/mediums pick up krishna to depict in vrindavan, they almost certainly pick up radha. this is to depict the love between the two - radhakrishna. this is quite divine, and legendary, and so many devotees believe in this.
here comes a thing, though: radha (where she was first depicted, she was not there in the original bhagvat gita/puranas) is older than krishna (my estimate, from what i know, is that there's atleast a 10 year age gap between them)
and yes, okay, radha and krishna love each other and eternal love and everything. but i don't think that in this world and age, depicting a 10 year old and 20 year old (minimum) in love, would be comfortable for anyone to witness and consume.
so to probably match radha's age (everything is sort of focused on her), they probably age up krishna. also: radha doesn't show up anywhere other than vrindavan, so they can't preach love in any other part/location either. (there's already a lot being taught in the other parts of the mahabharata anyway)
also, in order to teach the main values of love (and everything that come up with it) AND to retain radhakrishna (they don't want radha removed) they do the aging up because, well. can you imagine a 10 year old preaching about love in any universe?
History of Govardhan Parvat: The Story Behind Krishna’s Sacred Hill in Mathura
Govardhan does not rise suddenly. It stretches low across the land, almost as if it has chosen to remain close to the earth. You might pass it once and not think much of it. But stay a little longer, and it begins to feel different. The History of Govardhan Parvat is not something people explain in long sentences. It is something they walk, quietly, again and again.
Situated in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, this hill is known as Giriraj. People here do not speak of it as stone and soil. They treat it as something living. A form of Krishna himself.
The Story Behind the History of Govardhan Parvat
The story is simple. And yet it has stayed.
The villagers of Vrindavan once prepared to worship Indra, the god of rain. It had always been done that way. But Krishna asked them to look around. The hill gave them grass, water, shelter. Why not worship Govardhan instead?
They listened.
The rains came soon after. Not the gentle kind. The kind that does not stop. The kind that makes people uneasy. And then, without noise, Krishna lifted Govardhan Parvat on his little finger.
Not for a moment. For seven days.
People, cattle, everything gathered beneath it. Safe. Waiting. Watching.
That is how the History of Govardhan Parvat is remembered. Not loudly. Just enough to be carried forward.
Govardhan Parvat Today and Its Living Traditions
Even today, the hill does not stand alone. It is surrounded by footsteps.
People come to walk the parikrama path. Slowly, without hurry. Some walk barefoot. Some take longer routes. And some perform dandavat parikrama, lying down on the ground and moving forward one step at a time. It is not easy to watch. But it is steady.
Festivals come and go. Annakut brings offerings of food, arranged carefully, almost like small mountains. In many homes, a Govardhan Shila is placed and worshipped with the same care.
With Vrindavan Mathura Tour Package, the visit usually remains simple. No rush, no loud instructions. Just time to walk, to pause, and to notice small things.
The History of Govardhan Parvat does not sit in one place. It moves with the people who come here. And if you walk long enough, you begin to understand it, without anyone needing to explain.
