Exploring Amazon Wishlists
We are exploring the possibility of adding support for Amazon Wishlists. There are several questions that we need to answer in order to evaluate adding this feature. We’d like to open these questions up to the fandom to help us figure out the answers, and also to see if there’s anything we missed.
Are wishlists available to users worldwide? Is there a set list of countries? For iTunes, they provide a list.
Am I able to buy something off a wishlist for a user in another country? Are there any restrictions on that?
Bonus question: If #2 is allowed, does the purchase count for the country of the buyer or the recipient?
Are you able to link to a private wishlist?
Does linking to a private wishlist reveal other public wishlists you might have?
Can you hide your full name (or customize it)?
Can you hide your address?
Is there any other information about the recipient that is shown to the buyer?
What information about a buyer is given to the recipient?
Is digital music eligible to be purchased via a wishlist?
Are there other questions we haven’t thought of yet?
The other thing we need to figure out is the basic matching process - how do we support multiple platforms? When someone signs up to one of our sponsorships, do they select which platform (iTunes, Amazon, either)? Right now we process sponsorships first-come first-serve by country. We would obviously need to adjust this process and figure out new prioritization rules, and it would depend on whether Amazon is country restricted like iTunes (#2 above).
If you are able to answer any of these questions, please let us know! The more details you’re able to provide - links, screenshots, etc - will be very helpful
