              eyes squint at the brightly light christmas tree in front of her. she's scrutinising the ornaments and designs placed on it, analysing the world's NEED of festivities. she's a LITTLE overwhelmed and taken aback by CHRISTMAS, she and her mother had never celebrated such a thing. it was all about the gods for them, so to ever encounter a celebration like this ?? the amazon had a real case of CULTURE SHOCK. 

              ❝     well, MERRY CHRISTMAS, i guess.     ❞     she spoke in a soft voice, less harsh and fierce than she would normally speak in.

 Upon leaving the building by her side, Etrigan’s demeanor went from rather puppyish (as it always was when he was around Diana) to almost immediately unhappy, and he crossed his arms over his chest as a cold, snowflake-full breeze blew against him. “Etrigan likes not the snow on his devilish form; it sizzles against his skin that is ever warm.” Don’t mind him as he just kinda is wrapping himself up in his cape presently. It’s not like the snow hurt him, or anything, but it's about as weird feeling as lava touching the ocean.

 “O princess, can we not find some place to wait out this cruel weather?” (It wasn’t cruel; it was rather nice, actually. Just not to a demon who walks around as hot as a space heater.) “I wish not to be dissatisfied as long as we are together.” Grumble grumble grumble.

                  So here’s what happens when you fight a man made of water nearby the Hudson Bay: you get swept into the Hudson Bay. Guess what the Hudson Bay is connected to? The ocean, the answer is the ocean. Guess who just washed ashore totally starved and half dead, suit ripped to rags? THIS GUY.

                         There’s a Star Wars joke about sand on the tip of his tongue, but he’s too dehydrated to even finish it in his inner monologue. Oh GOD, he’s gonna die here, isn’t he? He’s gonna die here, on some island, wearing nothing but a ruined suit and his family and friends all the way in Queens, and no one’s going to know. ‘What happened to that one Spider-Boy?’ someone might ask a few years from now. Someone else’ll just shrug and say ‘Beats me, my man.’ because by then Back to the Future will be real and people’ll say stuff like that. Obviously. 

                But THEN, something blocks the blinding sun from his deadeyed stare         and what’s more important          he’s pretty sure SOMEONE’S hand was touching his shoulder.

     Monaco. The shining sun and balmy shore breeze made an elegant backdrop to the tiny, bustling metropolis of wealthy residents and foreign tourists. Faora waited outside one of the many, many cafes, sipping a cup of steaming coffee whose price would make the common man go pale. She stood when she saw Diana approach, and though dwarfed by the other woman’s considerable height, Faora at least managed to match her air of quiet, impenetrable dignity.

     “ Thank you for agreeing to meet with me here, Diana of Themyscira. I hope you recognize the great deal of trust I have placed in you by disclosing my location. ”
