Cliques of modern group denying society vs Old Amazonian tribes
Interesting enough I was watching a documentary a few weeks ago about the indigenous communities from South America (Amazon). There is somehow a misconception about the fact that they are "uncontacted" which would make you believe that they do not know about our existence. They do know about it they just refuse to have anything to do with us because, from their perspective, "white man" brought nothing good for their friends in the past. Some of these tribes are being tracked by the small footprint they live from satellites in the Amazon Rainforests as they move from one place to the other.
Interesting enough when one tribe was being from an airplane they actually launched spears and darts towards it signaling that they are not interested in making contact.
You must understand that in the past their tribe members or other tribes that were in contact with they were either killed or enslaved by the modern society hence they just fear to make contact. They simply DO NOT DESIRE IT.
Also, another problem that they could face if they do contact is probably extinction due to diseases that would run rampant in their midst.
So, we could talk a lot about them but I think it is something natural in their need to stay isolated and I can understand that. So, I guess, we should move to the next ones.
Modern groups living in isolation.
We have our own cliques starting as early as high school where we tend to isolate ourselves in groups of friends. That is a normal behavior to some extent. The problem is when we continue this isolation more and more becoming, sometimes, unfortunately, religious extremists, fighting "the Man" or other such extreme thinking
.As we have seen in the past and sometimes even know those kinds of isolation exists but most of the time is for the wrong reasons.
Take for instance the Amish community in the US. They know about modern society (obviously) but they chose to live simple lives. They dress plain, offer a close community and they refuse to adopt even most basic modern technology because that would lead to more complication and also because that would be against their way of being. Even they split in two in the late 19th century and one part later assimilated by the modern society.
Latin for "for of the county" was an organization that formed in the late '60 and were more conspiracy-minded and, ofc, anti-government oriented. Interesting enough at some point there were between 20,000 and 60,000. But those clearly were not isolated.
Branch Davidians (Branch Davidian Seventh Day Adventist)
They are a religious group that started in the 1955 schism among Shepherd's Rod/Davidians. They believe that the biblical prophecies for final judgment is already here or near here and it is the prelude of Jesus Christ's Second coming. You must understand that in hard times in the past all societies after 1AD believed that 2nd coming is imminent.
You must also remember this group because there was a siege (Waco Siege) that lasted for 51 days and where 76 people died. You must understand that the leader of the group (David Koresh) was chosen by the late Benjamin Roden's wife, Loid Roden, as the prophet instead of her son George Roden who was seen as unfit to assume that position. So she named Vernom Howell (which later became David Koresh).
The Montana Freemen were an anti-government militant "Christian Patriot movement" based outside the town of Jordan, Montana, in the United States. The members of the group referred to their land as "Justus Township" and had declared themselves no longer under the authority of any outside government. They became the center of public attention in 1996 when they engaged in a prolonged armed standoff with agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
While the Amazonian tribes and Amish might be closely related in their reasoning of becoming isolated, most modern isolation is either the need to be "chosen" as a cult leader personality or chosen as a "group". While others simply refuse to accept the reality as is around them.
I am not saying the latter (People who want to govern themselves) are wrong I am just saying that sometimes they chose to wrong path to do so.
Disclaimer: I do not think I know the story and reasoning behind any of the groups mentioned above. I just wrote what I have seen on TV or read about it. Now, I could not say which story is true or not or if the “authorities covered up the real truth”.
Dya, What are your thoughts about cliques or even tribes, but it doesn't necessarily have to be (primarily, anyway) an investigation into remote, isolated, aboriginal tribes or anything like that, though. Thank you for your consideration.
