In Focus

Before you the world was a blur

Days moved past like scenery through a dirty bus window shapes, colors, people without edges

Then you walked in

I don’t remember the room exactly just fragments a chair scraped against the floor someone laughing too loudly light falling sideways through a window

And you

Everything else went soft around the edges like a camera searching for the right subject

My eyes adjusted without asking me

the small details announced themselves

the way your hair refused to sit perfectly the way your hands moved when you talked the quiet seriousness behind your smile

I stared a second too long like someone who had just leaned how to see

Maybe you noticed maybe you didn’t

But in that moment something inside me clicked into place

The world didn’t change

But you standing there completely unaware

Became the point where everything finally

came into focus
