An exonym is a name for a geographical location, group of people, language, or other entity that is used by outsiders, differing from the local, self-applied name, called an endonym. Exonyms can arise from historical circumstances, difficulties in pronouncing foreign words, or simply by outsiders creating a new name based on their own language or perceptions
Banning exonyms refers to the official or informal prohibition of using place names derived from outside the local culture or language, in favor of the local names (endonyms). This practice can be rooted in decolonization efforts, a desire for political accuracy, or a rejection of potentially pejorative terms.
Using exonyms is grossly offensive and breeds misconceptions of people's.
