TV Dinner

There's a lot of buzz surrounding an immersive dining experience running inside the hotels of central London.  A pop up with a difference, this is Fawlty Towers themed!  Anyone remember the kitsch 70's TV show, still shown on Gold? Well this basically it in real life, it couldn't have been any better!  Set in the Amba Hotel on the doorstep of Charing Cross station, in it’s fifth year of residency and also at Kingsway Hall Hotel in Covent Garden.  You walk through until you hit Basil's bar.  Here the hilarity began, with a man who stayed perfectly in character as Basil, ferociously berated a wide eyed and bewildered Manuel over the poor distribution of his nuts to the guests.  Soon Cybil joined in to ensure everyone got to their seats.  Of course we didn't, chairs were missing, cutlery was grabbed out of our hands, bread rolls were thrown across the room and parsley was thrown directly onto people's laps.  All part of the experience of course.  A three course meal of rich tomato soup, roast chicken with all the trimmings and a passionfruit, vanilla and chocolate three tiered mousse.  Over the courses they ran between the tables and down the hotel's hallways shouting across at each other, getting all the guests involved in the drama.  You couldn't help but roll around with laughter at the chaos going around you.  You'll recognise material from all the iconic episodes, this was brilliantly put together.  I cannot recommend this enough, best dinner I've had in ages!
