the “ethel cain copied the amber haggerman missing poster for preacher’s daughter” discourse i’m seeing on reddit is so stupid. people are saying it’s “sick” and that they’re “reevaluating listening to her” 😭 i don’t think it was Great but you don’t have to drop an artist you like for doing something “edgy” like that. sooooo many musicians reference serial killers/murder cases in their songs all the time. i’m just seeing immediate dogpiling on her and that’s raising some red flags for me. she can’t do anything even remotely flawed without people using it as a Real and True analysis of her character (sounds like. ahem. transmisogyny). jesus fucking christ guys!!!!
