Thoughts on WPNZ not being in the trailer:
I have a few thoughts and theories, and I’m gonna start with this: I don’t believe that WPNZ won't be in the show.
He’s too important to Puzzles’s character growth and development to not include, they literally DIED together, and he still has so much potential to be expanded on as a character, backstory and development wise! Zam would be shooting themselves in the foot big-time if they didn’t include him- the amount of fans that love both WPNZ and Puzzles is huge, and if they didn’t bring WPNZ back (be it writing choices, not being able to get Gianni back as a VA, or otherwise), it would not impact the show well.
But I don’t think he’s not gonna be in the show. I do think, however, that he won’t show up in the show immediately.
Here’s my theories on how and why I think the show would progress that why (going out on a limb, but hoping I make sense):
In the announcement trailer, we only see Puzzles falling through the rift. Makes sense that they’d get separated- they are falling through some rift in time and space, there’s no way they’d be able to keep ahold of each other the whole time. It’s completely possible for them to not be together when they get out of the rift.
After that whole rift sequence, we see Puzzles, and he looks like a mess. When was the last time we saw him so distressed? When he was trying to track WPNZ down to apologize.
Puzzles and WPNZ first met when Puzzles was trying to recruit a villain to break him out of prison. What is the show’s name? Literally called Calling All Villains. Could be alluding to him trying to lure villains to himself in hopes that WPNZ will be among them.
Following the tracking down WPNZ point, we all remember how OBSESSED Puzzles was with finding WPNZ and reuniting. You think that would change just because they end up in a new place? If it did, that would be major character assassination. Puzzles has always been obsessive- that shouldn’t be something that changes just because it's a new show!
I believe that the story will start off with Puzzles- just Puzzles, since he is going to be the main character (at long last). It’ll start off with his attempts to find WPNZ in this new world, all the while struggling to figure out what he wants his next steps to be.
Does he want to redeem himself? Does he want to stay a villain with WPNZ by his side? Time will tell!
Eventually, be it later in the first episode, or further on in the series, Puzzles will eventually track WPNZ down. That, or WPNZ will burst into the scene like the brash, overconfident walking weapon he is. Cue heartfelt emotional reunion.
The rest of the series, once they’re reunited, could be about them figuring out their next steps together- whether they both want to be redeemed, or having arguments over Puzzles wanting to become better while WPNZ doesn’t want to change, or them slowly taking over their new world like the villainous duo that they are (plus Toomp if he somehow shows up).
Whatever the case, the story would be so much more compelling if they kept WPNZ in, and I’m fully confident that they will! If they don’t, well, the show would lose a lot of its appeal to me and numerous other fans.
Here’s hoping they’re just keeping his new model hidden so that the simps don’t spontaneously combust.
TLDR: WPNZ is a very important character to Puzzles’s development, not keeping him in the show would be a horrendous writing choice, but I fully believe that he’ll be there.
