Thoughts on a non-white Harry Potter
I personally don't care if people headcanon a non white Harry. Ms. Rowling left his race ambiguous but please, enough with trying to make headcanons canon with silly reasons. Case in point: hair. Rowling describes Harry as having hair that can't be tamed (okay I'm paraphrasing) and some people seem to think that makes Harry black, specifically, I happen to take exception to that. Many of my friends have natural African hair and it looks very neat and tidy. So tidy I actually wish my hair would go like that! Yep, even though I have so called white hair it's difficult for me to tame: I actually gave up a long time ago trying to. When I was younger (not so much now that I've spent a while straightening and crimping and other things to my hair) it was really curly and frizzy. You can't tell what race someone is unless you either see them or someone tells you. "Just because their race isn't identified doesn't mean they're white." Just because their race isn't identified doesn't mean they're not.
when people used to ask me what race i was when i was little, i would tell them that i was gray.
