a little yancy (and deut) but inspired by the concept art for that amblimation cats the musical movie .. silly cartoon cats
Guess who just got the new Nico Marlet book?
These were all the pages in the book that featured Nico’s original “Cats” concept art, BUT this time with their original colors, so we would’ve seen what they would’ve looked like if the film was finished.
I’ll admit these scans were a bit difficult to do since my scanner is a bit smaller, but can fit these pages in well when you push it towards the screen. By the way, I highly recommend checking out the book “Boisterous Beasts & Deadly Dragons - The Art of Nico Marlet”, a lot of great stuff on there.
Some more Amblim style Bombalurina because why not
Tugger Time
Nothing major, just a style study of the canceled Cats animated movie—mostly because I’m still mourning what could have been.
I decided to draw Demeter because she was set to be one of the protagonists. I absolutely adore her scrapped designs; they have such a mystical and elegant aura. It’s a shame they eventually opted for a "sweeter" look (though I do like that version too). Also, it feels strange seeing Demeter without any spots or stripes, so I added some to my version.
My headcanons for this iteration are that she’s part Maine Coon or Cashmere Bengal (given that mane of hers) and that she's the sister of Rum Tum Tugger and Munkustrap.
