Can you make money on an AMD FX8350 based gaming PC? Short answer - maybe :-)
In this video, I will be showing you how I went about trying to improve my Wife's old AMD FX8350 PC to try and generate some $$$$$ to put towards the money I had already spent on her upgrade (you can watch that video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sig7MyrqWCI&list=PL39HCM-SRLM9nTVRnfPvAOHFRnWQe9Sf0&index=4&t=0s )
The PC is a pretty good spec for some 1080p gaming at lower settings.
The FX8350 is on the ASUS M5A99X EVO motherboard with 8GB of 1600mhz DDR3 in dual channel.
The graphics are taken care of by the almost legendary ZOTAC GTX780 AMP with the triple fan setup.
In the Antec 900 chassis this card runs happily at 60c with boost! Not bad for a 10 year old design!
The biggest issue this setup had is the cable management and PSU mounting.
The design only allowed the PSU to be mounted fan side up, which is not ideal and also made the cable runs just a little too short to reach the 8 pin EPS connector and the graphics card power supply was too short to reach the card if routed through the cable management holes!
So it was time to take action, clean the PC top to bottom sort out the cable mess and try and make this old classic a little more modern looking.
