I really like how accurately you described the issues they're gonna have after they get rescued. So here's a little something to explore the idea of longan happening to wake up a little bit eariler and being the one to rescue Pitaya.
Sadly Longan would still be sleeping during all the shit that's happening so this isn't one of the endings of amdiadd. But it would be fun for Longan to use this as a reason for Pitaya to help Longan kill all cookies.
So in your amdiadd au, I got curious about a certain Cookie of Darkness and her interactions with our poor Lizard who is slowly losing their mind. So, what do AMDIADD Pitaya Dragon Cookie and Agar Agar Cookie think of each other? Just curious.
Also, can Hollyberry Cookie, in the good endings, keep Pitaya Dragon Cookie FAR AWAY FROM THE WAR, please (As good friends since you said they aren't a thing)?

Also, Hollyberry would have NO INTENTIONS of bringing Pitaya into the war after allat. In fact, would Pitaya even still be in contact with cookies after everything thats happened?
Unfortunately I don't want to elaborate a lot on Ananas's unwilling recruitment (since their recruitment is part of an alternate ending and not actually the main part of the au) (also cuz I'm not gonna plan a whole ass arc about the suffering of that piss coloured lizard. Just know that they suffered a lot too lol.)
Buuuut I can elaborate on Final Product (F.P.) details regarding both Ananas and Pitaya. F.P. is a combination of some ancient dragon taming techniques, sciency brain fuckery, and some corruption magic. Since dragons are as sentient as cookies, their minds can certainly be brainwashed like cookies(with a little bit more effort ofc).
However! The question that I have a hunch that people may ask is "if ur going to brainwash the dragon, why take so much effort to do so?" And to that I say it's like a vaccine.
If something was corrupted instantly, eg: sugar swan, bezerk DC, night raven, then the uncorruption would be instant as well. That has been an oversight from the COD for many times already. The corruption is strong for only a moment to take over and has no need to set roots deep within since it already exists. Hence, the purification method would be easy and quick since its all surface level.
But if the corruption has been slowly seeping into them little by little, day by day, getting fueled by the increasing darkness from daily torment and given time to linger and plant deep roots into the mind before they finally seal it. Then of course it would be harder to get rid of completely. (And it just so happens that the COD have a lot of time lol)
Pitaya's case is because they're the first to be corrupted. It's bound to be very experimental and will have some mistakes that they have to deal with in the future. And especially since the final process was interrupted, Pitaya will have a hard time keeping their brainwashed self without regular checkups with a certain cookie they really dont like. That's also why it took so long. It's so that Butter Roll can study Pitaya to find the most efficient way to infiltrate their mind (and maybe get some interesting dragon anatomy facts, but that's just Butter roll's personal side quest)
After the cookies somewhat succeeded with the first one, the second time is much more easier to do. Since now that they don't have to do many detours for Butter Roll to study the other dragon. As well as knowing how to do the job more efficiently and fixing mistakes while adding an equal amount of torment to further fuel the corruption. This exponentially decreases the time needed for Ananas to get F.P.ed and it will only decrease further as soon as Lotus gets in the image (bless their poor soul)

Won't be easy considering how powerful longan actually is. Would 100% not go down without being ridiculously stubborn. And 100% would not cooperate given that they don't have anything DKEC can use as leverage. Would probably be under sedation most of the time or just be considered to just insta brainwash the stupid lizard since they're so stubborn.
If not then either every member of the cod wears dragon scales, or (the funnier option) everyone works together to meticulously tape the eye shut of every. single. Longan orb. (Including Longan's eyes.)
And somehow the other dragons will always come across another untaped orb coming from SOMEWHERE on earthbread
If brainwashed Pitaya were to see or hear Snapdragon again, would that make them snap out of it? Or at least give them a moment of clarity long enough to realize what happen?
