Video of Amelia Lowe's dance for your life during season 9? It was during Vegas Week - she danced to an instrumental from To Kill a Mockingbird & she made Adam Shankman cry. It's one of my favorite solos ever, but it's gone from the youtubes!

This clip from S9, Vegas Week, touches on so many reason why I adore this show, (I mean, honestly love this show so much I wish I could squeeze it!) 1) Cat being an amazing, comforting, thoughtful host w/Cyrus right at the top. WHERE is her Emmy already? 2) a dancetestant getting cut after doing more of a stripper routine than anything worth actually seeing, and Debbie Allen telling her, next time, "put on more clothes, and dance." I wonder if the advice had any impact on that girl? 3) then a dancer I'd forgotten about, dances so beautifully, I cry! Amelia, I forgot I loved you!

#30: "Falling Slowly" (Amelia, Top 14)

(Nevermind the Janelle thumbnail; the only video of this solo that I could find was one that included all of the bottom three girls. Amelia's is the first one.) 

I was so done with Amelia when I saw this solo omfg.

I loved her audition and I loved her DFYL solo in Vegas because she brought something to the table that I hadn't seen before. I was actually completely prepared to be annoyed with her because of the 20s thing, but I thought she was adorable and her solos were da bomb. So why did she do the most generic solo she could manage for the most important DFYL of the season???

It's not a bad solo, but Amelia is capable of so much more than the standard emotional contemporary solo to sad acoustic music that we see over 9000 times a season. I just don't know what possessed her to move away from what got her on the show to this. Maybe she was trying to do something different? I have no idea.

I mostly just didn't want her to go home and I knew she would after this. She wasn't really all that challenged during her run (contemporary twice, jazz twice), so I wanted to see what she would do with an all-star. I can't even call her elimination wack because, at that point in the competition, Lindsay was the one that deserved to stay. /frustrated
