I saw a tiktok the other day of someone complaining about people using 24 hour time and saying it was a red flag…. like hello? First off, lots of people outside America use it because that’s just what their country does. But as for the people in America who are not in the military, or the healthcare field, it’s just honestly smarter. There’s no confusion on if someone means AM or PM, but also, it’s just so much nicer to acknowledge that the day is, in fact, 24 hours long. Idk I just feel like it makes so much more sense. Thoughts?

This is America

Swear to God I really witnessed this. I'm at the supermarket, admittedly spending way too much money (because I was buying organic stuff and fruit!!), and this family comes in led by a morbidly obese father. I'm not throwing that term around lightly. He was massive and didn't seem to mind a bit, or even really notice for that matter. That said, I overheard these things while sharing an aisle with Mom, Dad and three kids:

Daughter: Ooh, let's get some granola!

Mom: She wants to get healthy food.

Dad: No. You know what I have for breakfast every morning? I have plain yogurt with strawberries and blackberries. Put it back.

20 seconds later, they move further down the aisle:

Dad to Mom: Why don't you buy some pudding mix and make me a cream pie?

This is America. This is why we are the most obese country in the world.
