Crashing Americans Expectations of Hostels
Almost nightly at Hostel Fish’s bar- The Exchange Rate- I have people tell me incredulously that they had no idea there were even hostels in the United States; that they’d always thought it was simply a European thing. They also take a look around the bar and lounge areas, go out to the balcony, maybe pass through the restrooms, and when they return say something along the lines of “this place is really beautiful. Such a nice space!” before inquiring more about the hostel; i.e. what it’s like sleeping in a room with other people, how much bunks costs, are we continuously full, etc. After the exclamations, it’s not uncommon for a seasoned traveler at the bar to enthusiastically back them up by saying “yeah, Hostel Fish is definitely one of the nicest hostels I’ve ever stayed at. It’s great.” Hostels are a blossoming industry in the United States, and Hostel Fish, in particular, strives to be at the forefront of reinventing Americans notions about hostels. We push always to offer a clean, attractive space at a reasonable rate, where everyone feels comfortable to socialize and rest before continuing on with their respective adventures. Welcome to Hostel Fish! We hope you enjoy your stay!
