To hope is to be burdened. Burdened by the idea that things can change. Can be better. But it also means bearing the weight of the work that must be done. Those of us that dare to hope do not have the luxury of carelessness. Our need to help, to nurture and believe is etched upon our hearts. We cannot sit idly by. If we have the power to help, we must. For if we possess the means, yet do not render aid, it makes us no better than God.
