Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen (born September 23, 1949) is often called The Boss. He has been leading the E Street Band for nearly 50 years. Springsteen is one of rock music’s leading and influential musicians. The New Jersey native has been playing his brand of plain, heartfelt, and even complex music. His working-class music appealed to many of his fans. He has helped shape some American rock music. Springsteen pulls no punches; what you see is what you get. Springsteen has won numerous awards for his work in harmony. In 2014, he was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the E Street Band, and as a solo artist, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He was a Kennedy Center recipient in 2013, the same year he was named MusiCares Person of the Year. Most of us have at least one of his songs that is our favorite and remember the first time we heard his music, Springsteen. He remains humble even with all the praises and awards he has won. He is a Rock music icon.
