A day at the beach
Ameripan day 2
Why?
Why? Was all he could think. Why did he agree to this?
Kiku stood in the sand, watching Alfred play with his dog Pochi. Summer was finally here. And he was stuck trying not to stare at his friend. He had to admit that Alfred tanned pretty well. It made his hair seem golden in comparison.
Kiku ended up spacing out, thinking of how nice it would be if Alfred walked over and kissed him in the sunlight. Instead he looked drunk and was about to drool into the water. Alfred did walk up, but he was more worried than romantic.
“Hey, dude... you okay?” Alfred waved a hand in front of Kiku’s face.
“Yeah...” Kiku sighed, gazing into Alfred’s eyes. Real subtle.
“Let’s sit down,” Alfred offered as he plopped down in the sand. Kiku nodded and did the same.
Alfred pulled out his water bottle and gave it to Kiku. “You look dehydrated.”
Kiku silently took it. As he drank, he began to think isn’t this an indirect kiss? Immediately he pulled away. Alfred didn’t seem to think anything of it.
“Alfred....”
“Hm?”
“Nothing.” Kiku stared at his feet.
At that moment Pochi came running, jumping and toppling over Kiku. He realized that he landed right on top of Alfred. Their faces were mere inches apart, both a light shade of crimson.
Alfred laughed. Kiku felt like he could cry. Both were about to kiss until Pochi got in their faces as well. They were both laughing now, the dog yapping happily.
ameripan week day 3: mermaid the typical “i found a mermaid and i put her in my bathtub for safe keeping” bullshit
Ameripan week day 1: icy treats Kiku loses his straight pass Only a few hours after finishing this i realized how sexually provocative this looks. Wasn’t my intention but whatever it works
Cold as ice cream
Ameripan
Despite it being summer, Kiku Honda still felt cold. After a bucket of ice water was dumped on him by his younger cousins, he had walked outside and lay on in the grass. But the blazing sun did nothing.
“Hey, Kiku!” Alfred F. Jones, Kiku’s new neighbor, waved at him from the other side of the fence. “Want some ice cream?”
A few minutes later Kiku found himself sitting on the shaded patio of Alfred’s house, eating mint ice cream despite shivering like a wet dog. Alfred had draped a towel over the poor boys shoulders.
Alfred was charming in his looks. And his personality wasn’t as bad as most assumed. At least, that’s what Kiku thought. They had gone to school together for as long they could remember, yet up until Alfred’s family moved next door they never spoke outside of class. Kiku thought their friendship was fast paced to say the least.
Kiku was still shivering. Obviously one towel wasn’t going to beat ice cream. As it was getting late, Kiku got ready to leave. But not before Alfred grabbed his wrist.
“So…. pride starts today. Are you doing anything tonight?” Alfred’s face grew red.
“No, my parents don’t like it. Yao and Mei are leaving for their friends.”
“Oh… ok, well I was wondering if you wanted to come over later and watch a show, maybe have more ice cream?”
Kiku felt his face heat up as Alfred asked the question. For some reason he got the feeling that he was being asked out.
“Sure.”
Alfred grinned. He launched himself from his chair and tackled Kiku in a bear hug. He then remembered his friend didn’t like physical contact much, making him pull back sharply.
“Sorry…” he mumbled.
Kiku looked up at him for a moment. Then he leaned into Alfred, smiling into his chest. They stayed like that til they heard Yao shout for Kiku to come inside.
“Bye.”
“Goodbye.”
“Ice cream later?”
“Sure.”

Ameripan day 1
Drowning in love
Ameripan day 3
Alfred stared at it. The scale covered creature gasping, blood gushing out of its arms. Arms that were missing. The poor creature had the luck of running into a predator.
Alfred rushed to get bandages. He then began to fill an inflatable pool with water from the ocean. He scooped up the crying merman and set him down in the pool. Slowly, his breath steadied.
“Are you okay?” Alfred asked.
The man just stared painfully. “Nani?”
Alfred tried asking slower, not exactly helping. The merman shook his head in confusion. Both seemed to understand that this was going nowhere.
Alfred got up and grabbed food from his fridge. As he began to eat, the merman made a sound. He was staring at the food. Cooked salmon, Alfred realized, may be the closest thing to whatever diet he had back in the ocean.
They shared the meal, Alfred having to feed the merman. They shared meals like that for months. They couldn’t communicate by speech, but they did their best. Alfred even helped the sea creature learn to swim and hunt without his arms.
Years had passed. The merman never visited since he was finally able to live on his own. Alfred sometimes missed him. Despite not knowing him well, it was nice to finally have some company on the lonely shores.
He walked with his new companion, a small dog named Pochi. The wind blowed his golden blond hair back. Sunset finally started. That’s when Pochi started to bark.
Alfred followed the dog to the edge of the water, where a sleeping figure in the sand lay. The man seemed familiar. Dark brown hair spread out on the muddy sand. His legs had scars all around them. A sheet was tied around his waist in an attempt at clothing. But most familiar was the fact that he had no arms.
Alfred picked him up bridal style, waking him. He stared at Alfred, taking in what was going on.
“Alfred....”
“Are you okay?”
“Now I am,” the man leaned into Alfred, a small smile dancing across his lips.
They got to the house, Alfred sitting him down on the couch. Before Alfred could begin to even think of questions, the man leaned in and kissed him. Alfred had to catch him as his body fell onto his. Their hearts beating fast, their kiss deepening. When they eventually pulled apart, both gazed into each other’s eyes.
“Kiku..... that’s my name,” the former merman whispered as they kissed again.
And at that point it’s safe to say they were more than okay.
