Species: Unicorn - bat pony hybrid
Cutie Mark: Moon phases with spark in the middle
Special talent: Magic usage specifically at night
Occupation: Previously a mage-in-training, now currently a cashier at a small boutique
Personality: Very up beat and chatty, surprisingly competitive and likes to rough house despite her appearance, optimistic, intelligent yet ditzy, stubborn, determined
Her mom is a bat pony and her father is a unicorn
With her variation of bat pony, she doesn’t posses any wings! But she is very fluffy like her mom and has bigger ears. Meanwhile her tail is from her father along with her horn.
She was and still is an oddball. Very few close friends. She hissed and bite while playing pretend as a filly too. She’s extremely embarrassed about it too.
Loves comic books, bugs, and fruit (specifically apples)
Her magic was strong as a foal compared to others and ponies recommended that she enter a magic academy. Her father was eager for her to while her mom wasn’t really. She knew that studying would take up a lot of time.
In my lore bat pony unicorns have a lot of difficulty using magic. So when Eve did demonstrate her magic and ended up with a cutie more revolving around it her parents were stunned. Unfortunately, though, as she got older her magic became harder to control. As it’s described by her it felt like something blocking the magic in her. And when she does use it, it back fires and harms her. After that she stops studying all together and goes to work in ponyvillie due to feeling so ashamed.
The boutique she later works at sells different hats and accessories. They’re very friendly there and she gets paid well. But it still feels like it doesn’t fit her.
With all the things that have happened to her previously before, she is still very peppy and chatty- often trying to hide how she actually feels.
You can often tell she’s coming due to the bells in her mane.
How do you think they met: Had a little story in mind for them!
The young prince walked along the marble floor of the school, finally sneaking past the guards that stood frozen near the door. Just as his father uttered a hardy laugh, Nightfall turned his steady gallop into a sprint.
His nose had already caught on to tasty snacks that seemed very, very close. But oddly enough there were none in sight. Not even a crumb! The prince huffed in frustration and sat on his flank in defeat. For a couple of moments he watched as other ponies and foals make their way around. A bored sigh escaped his mouth. Even though his mother said this guest visit to this magic based school would be entertaining, Nightfall found it nothing of the sort.
Right before turning around the young colt saw a movement at the corner of his eye. It was… a white puff ball? Connected to- something. He couldn’t make it out. Of course he would do what any pony would and just-
A quiet squeak pierced his ear drums in the most unpleasant way. The sudden reaction even caused him to stumble back. His head frantically turned every which way. Then right after, he pushed the table cloth to the side…
The little filly that was hoarding a bunch of the refreshments that were previously on the table. Many of them were already in her mouth. An awkward silence came over them both.
“Hey! Move the cloth! Somepony’s gonna see us and I- IMEAN- WE could get caught!”
The corner of Nightfall’s mouth pushed back from a confused frown to an amused grin. A couple of sharp teeth showed before holding out a hoof.
“How about… You split your haul… And no one finds out?” He replied. Of course the little thief was a bit stubborn at first, grabbing hold of the snacks her hooves could hold, fluffing up her fur. But after a few seconds of considering her options, she reluctantly agreed.
“Fine… You drive a hard bargain, kid!” She swallowed a cupcake that was to the side. “But my mom would be really mad….” She tossed a cookie towards Nightfall and he catches it clumsily. The two begin to devour the treats.
As the prince was chewing he could feel two big eyes just staring at him. He slowly turn towards the filly who seemed now more curious about him then the little hideaway she had created. A little ‘hmm’ came from her while eyeing him. He was understandably a little uncomfortable.
A small giggle seeped through, followed by laughter. Nightfall’s eyes narrowed. Was she about to pick on him? Why was she laughing. While baring his teeth he got ready to confront her. But then-
“Hehe! Your mane! It’s all sparkly!”
He was caught off guard once again. His head tilted slightly to the side in confusion.
She nods confidently “And you got wings! And a horn! Pretty neat stuff, Sparkly guy!” Well now she was just stating the obvious. But she seemed amused by it, thrilled even. “I have a horn too, but my magic is all WOO-“ She threw up her hooves. “An’ ZAP!” She then moved them in an explosive motion. “An’ BOOM- So now my daddy won’t let me use it in the house. But he says I can use it at school! Especially after I passed this test thingy. And after doing it my head hurt! And-“
Nightfall just watched as she went on and on about random things. First it started from school to a comic she was reading. It almost made him dizzy but at least she was nice for the most part.
“-And that’s why he defeated the evil vine monster! Because of having someone by his side to make him stronger!” She puffed proudly. But then she looked over at Nightfall. With a sudden dramatic point, she grins. “Hey!What’s your name?”
He sheepishly lowered his head and looked up. “Nightfall…”
She nodding confidently. “Nightfall! Nice to meet ya. I’m Eve! Which is short for Evening Glow! But I guess you can call me Evening. Or Glow! Or both. I don’t care.” Finally she goes to grab a piece of candy but finds that the snacks were pretty much gone. Which annoyed her to say the least.
“Aw great… we’re all out!” She looks at all the wrappers and crumbs gathered around them. She thinks to herself before looking towards Nightfall again. “Hey! How’s about a game! We gather as much as we can, then whoever collects the most… takes ALL.”
Nightfall agreed with a determined nod. Suddenly, Evening shot up. “And you know what that means! We’re now competing! We’re rivals!” She said while walking outside, still being careful no one sees them.
“Rivals?” Nightfall was utterly confused. “Why Rivals?”
Eve rolled her eyes. “BECAUSE silly-“
“-rivals always push each other to be the best they can be!”
“And no matter where time takes us-“
“We’ll always be connected!”
“…At least that’s what my book said…!”
I like to think that while growing up they occasionally found each other in the courtyard due to her father working at night at the castle. Then due to things happening in life and Eve having trouble using her magic, she now spends more time away and they grow apart. But eventually find each other again. Even though Eve would be a bit ashamed too, she would be thrilled to see Nightfall again. Also I just thought about Eve calling Nightfall Sparkles as a joke growing up but it sticks as a nickname.
This 100% doesn’t have to be canon and definitely changed! Eve’s story can very much be played with too. I’m open to anything!
