Last week i learned how to cross stitch and it emboldened me to try something new! I repaired some dish towels with a simple blanket stitch that made the aesthetic very satisfying. Hope you enjoy my skills 😎

Milkweed critter finds.

One is a milkweed beetle (Tetraopes tetrophthalmus)

The other is a cuckoo bee/wasp of sorts. I havent identified it yet but these guys are becoming one of my favorite insects :>

Some photos of birds i took recently. We have (from left to right) hairy woodpecker, American three toed woodpecker, stellars jay, spotted sandpiper (they are so much smaller than i thought they would be!), violet green swallow, and a cordilleran flycatcher.

Some recent photos. My girlfriend @wallcritter got an awesome picture of the solar eclipse. I don’t know who this little beetle friend is! They are about the size of a grain of sand. Very smol

Western Black Widow

I didnt know black widows could look so cool. I just knew about the red hourglass. But this fella is a male and so that is why the back of his abdomen looks this way!

Bug finds:

1. Carolina mantis (very chill)

2. Beewolf (they steal bees and are parasitic)

On top of having kids in this really fun time of, idk, the world falling apart?? They are inflicting gender stereotypes onto kids too that really makes my blood boil. Like i overheard “mom i wish i was a girl so that i could wear earrings” the mom going “ yeah” and then kinda trailing off.

Like excuse me??? Let the kid wear earrings!! Jewelry should not be exclusive to one gender!!! I dont understand 😵‍💫
