So by this time tomorrow, the latest episode of Pokemon XY will have aired. Already the previews have been pretty controversial (at least that's how it seems), and I fully expect at least one argument to break out soon after the episode airs.
I'm hoping to see Serena realize the jealousy was pretty silly and apologize, and for Premier to take it gracefully. I'm expecting to see this happen in a way where it gets buried under this other subplot that's been mentioned, treated as a loose end to tie up at the end, and done in a way that focuses less on the jealousy and more on pushing the relationship. Something like this:
Serena: I'm sorry I was so jealous and thought you wanted to date Ash.
Premiere: Date- You thought- I'm SO sorry! I didn't mean to say it like that! I mean, I totally know you two are boyfriend and girlfriend, right?
It's not that I mind this, per se. It's just that the I've always found the amourshipping arguments from both sides incredibly depressing. It's rabid dogs versus bitter shotgun-wielders: No matter which side is right (or whether they're right to be right) you end up with a bloody battlefield and serious questions about the fandom.
(Note: I'm not saying I'm right for not really participating in the debate, or that the above view is correct. It's just my view, which is probably equally as problematic as either side.)
So I ask you, what is everyone hoping to see and what is everyone expecting to see?
