Introduction to Amputee / Devotee perspectives
A blog discussing the reasons behind the amputee attraction phenomenon.
“You are the sum of your experiences.”
Sigmund Freud proclaimed: All your sexual hangups are your mother's fault. (paraphrased)
No one can be neutral regarding another person with a physical disability. There is an instinctive rejection of anyone who is not physically perfect. That instinct is enforced by cultural mores, resulting in many types of inhibitions. However social pressures often dictate following an exception to the rule. Acting contrary to the mores, attraction to the less than perfect can become the solution to strong trained-in sexual inhibitions. One of those solutions is the attraction to amputees. But such an attraction is denounced as perverse by the social culture. Indeed, there are organizations that work to discourage such attraction. Others groups exist to validate the attraction.------
The AmputeeOT declares such facts as “sexist” and doesn't want to acknowledge the situation. But that is her perspective.
Warning!: Explicit emotional discussion ahead.

I tattooed my residual limb for Science
Here is how to care for your tattoo if you have to wear a prosthetic! 1. Before your tattoo, wash your residual limb and liner in Hibiclens. 2. Do NOT allow your tattoo artist to shave against the way your hair grows if she wants to shave you for your tattoo. 3. Get a tattoo! 4. Your tattoo artist may wrap your new tattoo in a bandage, or she can wash it, let it sit for 20 minutes, and then wash again with Hibiclens, allow to air dry, and immediately apply Tegaderm, Landerm or other occlusive bandage. 5. The tattoo area will be sore (like a sunburn) for several days. You can take ibuprufen to reduce localized swelling and pain. 6. You may notice after several hours that clear or ink-colored moisture has gathered under the occlusive bandage. If there seems like there is a lot of liquid (i.e. it is making it hard to see the tattoo) then carefully peel the occlusive bandage off, clean with hibiclens, allow to air dry and apply a new piece. Do NOT reuse the old piece. 7. Clean your residual limb and liner with hibiclens daily while leaving the occlusive bandage on. 8. After 3 days, you may remove the occlusive bandage and apply a new one. Or, if you notice lots of liquid underneath the bandage, you can remove it and apply a new one. 9. After 5-7 days, you may remove the occlusive bandage completely and wear your leg as normal. 10. If you experience discomfort or itching after the occlusive bandage is removed, you may apply a very small amount of nonscented body lotion or prosthetic care lotion to the tattoo area and rub in. Continue cleaning your liner and limb daily with hibiclens. 12. If you notice unusual redness, heat, swelling, foul discharge or etc, discontinue prosthesis and occlusive bandage use and consult a physician. 13. After several days, the very top layer of skin (which will be colored from the tattoo process) will peel off in a similar way to a sunburn. Do not pick or scratch at this, but continue gently cleaning with hibiclens. You may gently exfoliate with the pads of your fingers only.
DO NOT: Soak for long periods in tubs or pools for the first two weeks after you are no longer using the occlusive bandage. Scratch your tattoo until it is fully healed
