"Sense8 (2015) really made an impression on me, because of the connection that the characters have with each other and how they help one another. Why it made such an impact on me has to do with my personal life experiences, because there were times when I felt lonely and separated from the rest of the people. That is why it’s nice to see how these characters have each other. I grew up in Warsaw and because of personal experiences it was hard to get out of my shell for several years and it felt like I had to be on survival mode all the time. It is very personal, but it has to do with my family situation. My mother had mental issues and as a child it was hard to understand what was going on. Next to that I had to deal with sexual abuse. So, it was hard for me to be close with other people. I had to go in therapy where I was told that it wasn’t my fault and there wasn’t anything wrong with me, but the feelings that I had held me back for a while. Things are much better now and moving to Amsterdam was a big step for me. It’s a totally different place for me. I started managing my life much better and connecting more with other people. I know it’s not my fault but understanding this and the feelings that I have made things hard sometimes, but yoga, meditation and some Sense8 helped me out a lot. Oh, and I also like it when one of the characters, Sun, (a young Korean woman) fights in the series. I love it when she kicks and hits the bad men attacking her.”
