Finally! I’m sharing the characters from my campaign I’m running for my friends!! the first 3 are the characters my friends are playing. and Linda and Phillip are my NPCs. There are more NPCs, but I’ve already spent a whole week drawing all these characters and didn’t wanna put it off much longer.

Jim- a alien warlord from another planet, hellbent on destroying the earth, Kargoth, destroyer of worlds, is defeated and hit on the head so hard he got total life amnesia, and was told he was Jim, a construction worker, who got an air conditioning unit dropped on his head. He loves his rose garden now. He’s 11ft tall. big man.

Decibelle- [Isabelle Lisseaux]  She’s really, really, really, absurdly loud, all the time. hence the name Decibelle(Decibel). She often tries to resolve and defuse situations before throwing hands. She is insecure about her powers and keeps on her mask on to keep everyone safe. The mechanism quiets her voice to a normal human’s, so she does her best to keep it on. She is nearly deaf, but has hearing aids to assist. 

Lady-[Adelaide] she is from another dimension, but doesn’t know she is from another dimension. She “remembers” things diffferently, (”I remember there being two suns when I was younger, but maybe I’m wrong”). She also has a bit of dementia, so staff members don’t really take her seriously. She is the odd ball of the team. She is also blind as hell.

“Halcyon Old Folks Association” takes place at H.O.F.A. a retirement home made specifically for retired supers (heroes, villains and neutral parties altogether). Occasionally residents fight, and problems arise, and our “team” need to resolve the situation. I’m only 2 sessions in, but a third is on the way!! I hope to one day post it, with the consent of all those involved, but wanna resolve the whole story before posting anything (I have an issue where I post and make things that I don’t finish, and I want to stop doing all that incomplete stuff, especially with making this into a podcast)

In general my father would be gone for about a year or sometimes a year and a half. My mom and I first visited him in 2001 right before September 11th. Which was crazy because I stood in the Twin Towers in the summer of that year. My mom was really worried when we saw the attack on TV, because he worked close nearby. Luckily my father was unharmed. Eventually we moved to the US in 2004 and that’s when our family was finally together again. To me this film represents that even though our family was apart during this time. We’re still together in some form or way. (1/2) "When I was a kid I used to like the TV series Scrubs (2001). I still think it’s a great show. I saw myself like the main character J.D. doctor John Dorian (Zach Braff) and I remember that I had to write a short essay as a kid for English class. The point of this simple exercise was to learn comparative writing by literally comparing yourself to a person. So I compared myself to the main character of Scrubs because we both liked similar things and we both have Brown hair. I did that when I was 13, 14 years old and back then I wanted to become a doctor. Surprise, surprise I ended up being a communication science student in Amsterdam. Science, but not actually science if you know what I mean. Anyway, what I liked about Scrubs is that the TV show’s basic trope was that of a guy that everyone could relate to. I kind of see myself in that way. I like to think that I’m an important person, starring in my own show. (2/2) "At 6 years old I had probably seen Gone with the Wind 10 times already because I was just fascinated by it as an icon in my life. A woman who isn’t ashamed of her sexuality and someone who is just driven by a need to defy people’s expectations of her. It was really interesting to see how profoundly different that performance was compared to all the women in films of the time in the 1930s with Hays Code and everything. That sort of didn’t allow that kind of raw sexuality. Even though I will admit it isn’t a politically correct film. It is horribly racist in some parts, but I think that the performance of Scarlet O’Hara is a really important one for women to be exposed to. Although the idea of women sleeping their way to the top using their sexuality to advance themselves. That’s one hundred percent what Scarlet O’Hara did, but I wouldn’t say everybody go sleep with men for money and power. That’s a bad idea! It shouldn’t have to be like that for women, but I think that it’s interesting that the main character, who lost everything, uses the one thing or power that a woman had at that time in the 1880s. For me, it’s about the resourcefulness when there is no other option. (1/2) "As I become older, I’m beginning to notice that films do not impress me as much as before, but the film Still Alice (2014) by Richard Glatzer moved me a lot. With other films, I feel that they can be quite entertaining, but not more than that. It felt different with Still Alice. I was actually recommended to watch this film during one of my classes while studying to become a caretaker in a nursing home. The film’s story portrays Alice Howland who is a linguistics professor. She is married with three grown children. It all changes when she begins to forget words and finally she is diagnosed with Early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease. She and her family’s lives are tested while they face this challenge as she struggles to make most of the time that she has.
