“someone at work got mad at me because she said it was time to ‘let the cat out of the bag’ and i pointed out that no one in the building was holding a cat or a bag. she said my reply was ‘insensitive’ and that i would ‘get a taste of my own medicine’. i don’t know what that fucking means. i think i might’ve b’n threatened. i hope she targets only my appendix. doctors have been saying it’s fine to remove my appendix or somethin’ like that for years.”
❛ i honestly R E A L L Y wished someone would have warned me about how much work college is. ❜ the sentence was followed by a mere sigh, before crimson lips parted to speak once more. ❛ well, i mean, someone PROBABLY did — — — but i just chose to ignore them. ❜ it had been a dreadfully slow day for the redhead, and with her shift just ending a couple of minutes ago, she had already found herself drowning in the schoolwork she had been procrastinating to ( NOT ) do. ❛ tell me ———— are you any good when it comes to physiology ? or chemistry ? i will literally pay you to do these two worksheets for me. but, keep in mind that i’m kind of on the semi-broke side. kind of. ❜
“Uuuuugh, WHY?!”
Jo’s alarm clock was going off after her third time hitting the snooze button. She hadn't gotten home from her shift at the bar until 3 o'clock this morning and that blasted thing was now waking her up at 8.
“Okay, rise and shine, girl. Today's the big day. Drag that booty out of bed.”
She had been pushing for this meeting with the Curator at the Rijks for months and now they were finally interested in speaking with her about a showcase. So she stumbled out of bed and went straight for the espresso machine. Nothing like a good caffeine jolt to shake off the fog currently hanging over her brain.
Gemma had her laptop open in front of her and the largest sized coffee the shop sold. She felt armed and ready to take on at least some of the day. She claimed a table by the window, she could see the canal from the table and that always helped her focus. She just wanted so see the water. She glanced away from the screen to take a sip of coffee and noticed the figure standing in front of her. She smiled, almost happy for the distraction.
“don’t you just love when someone completely underestimates you?” anastasia is speaking to no one in particular, quit literally just airing her frustrations as she sits on a bench. “it’s like, you say that you’re blogger and people instantly think that you don’t do anything or your job’s not important -- ‘oh, that’s just all makeup and stuff, no one truly does that for a job’ or ‘you must not have a formal education because of yada yada’.” anastasia’s face scrunched as she sipped her iced coffee, shaking her head. “you should have seen the look on their face when i told them i was a double major -- suddenly the girl who does makeup and fashion for a living isn’t following what everyone does like a mindless sheep. what a jackass, can you believe that?”
“ shhhh. ” his voice low as his fingertips glided over his temples; eyes shut tight to avoid the sunlight. “ i’m nursing a wicked hangover & a pounding headache, not to mention a POTENTIALLY fractured nose but the other guy looks worse, believe me. ”
there were few places that rudolf liked as much as the museum, and vondelpark happened to be one of them. of course, it was probably the most popular in town, especially for the tourists, but that didn’t detract from the beauty, and plus, there were a few secluded spots he could fall back on. he was headed to one at the moment, enjoying the sun on his face and the light breeze through his short hair, when a voice caught his attention from behind. he glanced back over his shoulder--(please, don’t be talking to me)--and stopped short when it became obvious that yes, indeed, they were talking to him, not only that, but they were holding out his journal, leather and worn and dogeared. “schijt, uh--” he cleared his throat, rubbing at the back of his neck, “thank you. must’ve dropped it.”
“ you better take a damn walk before i take that bottle and smash your fuckin’ face in with it --! ”
and you’d think the people here would be better drunks than the ones back home -- at least the drunks back home could hold out for longer than thirty seconds in and a flippin’ jello shot. atti snarled at the other, teeth bared and brows furrowed.
