A/N: I’m not gonna lie and say I didn’t run around my apartment smelling all my candles trying to figure out what each of them would smell like haha I loved this request, thank you for sending it in. These are all completely my opinion and just headcanons that I think work for the characters! Enjoy~

Ichiro Yamada
Ichiro definitely mainly smells like the cologne he wears
he’s still pretty young so I can imagine him picking up a cologne he likes and then just sticking with that one and wearing it whenever he remembers
I can imagine a sort of musty, fresher smell for him that’s kind of outdoorsy but also slightly fresh
of course, when he’s running around Ikebukero, at the end of the day he’s going to smell like a sweaty boy, but normally his scent is actually quite refreshing
maybe something along the lines of cedarwood or pine
I can also imagine Jiro and Saburo pitching in together to buy him the cologne for his birthday and him ending up loving it
and that’s when he ceremonially threw away his axe body spray to become a real man
he used to douse himself in the cologne until he went on a date with someone and they commented that he shouldn’t do that
and ever since then he’s low key been scarred, but now only lightly applies it so that it’s a very faint smell
because he learned
otherwise, I think he probably just smells warm and comforting, like a big hug after a long day
Samatoki Aohitsugi
Samatoki probably smells faintly of tobacco underneath the sharp, spiciness of his own scent
he also has one brand of cologne that he sticks with and ends up wearing most of the time
I can see him smoking outside most of the time, so I don’t think his clothes would be doused in the smell of tobacco
but it’s still there reminiscent because his yakuza members smoke too, and it actually gives off a nice and warm addition to his scent
for his cologne, I can imagine him picking something sharper that really stands out and smells expensive like graphite or sage or spices
which would work really well with the undertones of tobacco
I have a headcanon that when he first became a yakuza boss, one of his underlings casually gave him the cologne as a gift and he liked it so much that he actually ended up using it all the time
he’s definitely the type that when he walks by you, you have to look up because it smells so good and you have to know where it came from
that’s probably why he doesn’t hug people though, otherwise they would be overwhelmed by the scents
I can also imagine him just smelling like whatever he was cooking that day, as long as the scent isn’t too strong
Nemu one time told him that he smelled like fish stew the whole day and he never got over that
Ramuda Amemura
I definitely think Ramuda would always smell a little bit sweet
maybe it’s from all the lollipops and candy that he eats, but he definitely has a light, airy smell
it’s not overbearing though, and it always seems to follow him like a mist, only really prevalent when you’re super close to him
if he has a cologne or some type of perfume that he wears, I’m thinking maybe an amber/honeysuckle kind of scent
something that’s really light, but still faintly sweet
and he knows exactly how to apply it to make it apparent but not overwhelming
I also think he would smell like new clothes sometimes just because he’s always working with clothing
he wants to make sure he smells good for when the customers come into his place, so he’s careful with his scent
I can also see him at the end of the day kind of smelling like the air fresheners that he uses in his shop
or even if he has fresheners in the back when he’s working on designing a new piece
overall, I don’t think his smell would be all that jarring, but he definitely has a distinct, sweet one
Jakurai Jinguji
Jakurai probably smells really clean
I can imagine his scent normally being fairly light unless he’s just come back from the hospital, in which case he smells like...hospital smell
he’s used to it though so he never really notices, but he’s acutely aware that other people can smell it so he always showers after work
and that’s when he would go back to his usual smell which I can only imagine as being very fresh and dewy
like the smell of freshly washed linens or sage or lavender
something that’s maybe a tiny bit sweet but mostly just really breezy and not super heavy
same with his cologne, I can’t see it being too heavy, but rather something that’s light and fresh
since he works in a place that’s really heavily sterilized, I feel like he wouldn’t want to smell overbearing and would prefer something more fresh
although I can also see him having a really fancy, expensive cologne that just straight up smells like man - something that’s sharper and almost smoky like bourbon or cardamom
but he only wears it whenever there’s a work party or for special occasions...or if you personally request him to wear it
