❛ did you hurt yourself? ❜ Valen @ Twyla @amused-bouche
“It would appear so.” The fae’s brow furrowed as she took in the crimson staining her palm. Delicate fingers curled inward to gauge if it were her hands that were injured. No, it wasn’t her hands.
A vague feeling of being pursued lingered within, remnants of adrenaline flowed through leaving her a bit disoriented. Twyla had no recollection of how she sustained an injury or if she had caused one.
Forest hues looked up from bloodied palms to take in the other with curiosity. He was tall, far taller than she was and was dressed rather nice. There was nothing in his topaz gaze that hinted at immediate danger, only concern. Though that didn’t necessarily mean he was safe. “Did you find me? Or did I you?”
If the fae had sought the man out then she was meant to be where she was. If not she was terribly lost.
@amused-bouche | starter for wylen &/or vesper
it's reaching the end of the band's first set, so ariel heads towards the bar to order a round of whatever said band's members usually drink & paying for them before heading back to the table he'd been occupying with a refill of his own. he enjoys the last few beats of the song they're currently playing, then watches as they head towards the bar. when the bartender points him out & the duo glance over, he offers up a smile & a nod of his head as a silent 'you're welcome'.
it's something he always does. any time he's at a bar or a tiny venue, watching a band play, he always buys a round for the band members. it's his way of showing them his appreciation for their music & their talents.
@amused-bouche asked: catch, "You good, Darlin?" -Cal
actions speak louder than words
catch, sender catches receiver by the waist after they bump into each other.
"Oh—!" Stevie was certain she was about to fall flat on her ass until she feels someone grab her around the waist to keep her from plummeting. She opens her eyes, glancing down before looking up at the man. Her brows slightly raise, and she blinks. Once. Twice.
Then he speaks. "Oh— Uh— Yea. yea, I'm.. alright," Stevie says, putting her hands over his, looking down at her waist before taking a slight step back so she was freed from his grasp.
"Thanks for catchin' me—" Even though you bumped into me, "You looked like you were onna mission when we collided."
@amused-bouche said: (More stolen memes from my blog. From Geo. He's trying to learn to cook.) "Taste this and tell me what you think!"
Leaning against the counter, John was attempting not to be the cooking equivalent of a ' backseat driver. ' He had been preparing most of his own meals since he ten years old, yet he hadn't learned with someone looking over his shoulder and instructing him on exactly what to do each step of the way ( even if perhaps, at that age, he should have ). Instead, he regulated himself to answering questions, commenting only when he really felt he should. As it was, Geo proved more than competent, while the enthusiasm upon his friend's face throughout the endeavor prompted a subtle grin to John's own countenance. "Will I be the first taste-tester for this one, then? I'm honored." Although quiet teasing was laced through his voice, he truly did appreciate that Geo cared for his opinion. Taking the plate he was offered, he gestured to a drawer and continued, "Hand me a fork and I'll give it a try."
@amused-bouche wanted a starter and got -> rollo shaw
Rollo's still getting used to being around wolves other than his mother. They had been secluded for so long that he's not really sure how to act, how to be his authentic self. All he knows is that he thinks Calder is pretty cool... wishes he had a bike, too, but what would Lovette think?
He exhales a cloud of smoke then stomps the butt out under his boot and walks over, admiring the metal frame, letting his eyes wander over it but never allowing himself to touch — that would be disrespectful and he doesn't want any bad blood between them. "How long you been riding?" He asks, lifting his gaze to meet Cal's.
@amused-bouche liked this for a starter. gif cred.
the young hunter runs slender fingers through shaggy blonde hair before giving the start of a friendly smile. there are bags under his eyes that speak volumes to the last time he probably slept. undoubtedly, the council had worked him overtime - sending him here and there for who knows what reasons. testing his loyalty, of which he has little for benjamin summers has always toed the line of what the hunters' council finds acceptable and his own morals.
"hello," says he as bright blue eyes look over to cal and then bones pop as benji stretches. "so what trouble are you getting into lately?" he jokes with a little laugh. "care to get coffee with me? i haven't slept in ... oh, who knows how long, but I need caffeine."
for Mylis ( @amused-bouche ).
For the Rangers of Ithilien to catch Orc scouts near the Anduin was a common occurrence. Loud as the creatures were and with a lack of fluidity in their movements, they were many and dispensable, as well as brutal in their strength. The footprints Faramir had noted earlier in the day pressed into the soil along the river attested that the group currently nearby was of a decent size ( certainly large enough to cause more than a little trouble ). Thus, he and his men had wasted no time in hunting them, following any further tracks until they happened upon the band amongst the trees.
Far less common, however, was to find a solo traveler situated directly in the Orcs' path.
After clandestinely overtaking their quarry and arriving at a steep hill overlooking the Orcs' route which allotted them an excellent vantage point, some of the Rangers began to notch their arrows for the ambush. Initially, he noticed the slight figure as he surveyed the surrounding area for anything else which might be of use; was this a child walking unwittingly into the direct path of the Orcs? The notion of anyone so young traversing here alone was absurd, however, and upon straining his gaze, Faramir saw that the wanderer was in possession of a beard — a dwarf, then. This close to the nearest bridge, the intention was most likely to cross in order to reach one of Gondor's closest towns with their markets and places to rest comfortably, or while less likely, as some form of aid to the Enemy.
Making his way down the precipitous ridge, he concealed himself once more amid the foliage as he cut through the distance between him and the dwarf, his soft footsteps ( said to be not dissimilar to those of the elves ) and verdant cloak shielding him from notice. The moment the stranger was within reach, he clamped one gloved hand over the traveler's mouth and the other around the waist before dragging them both back into the trees. Faramir didn't release his grip as he murmured near the dwarf's ear, "Whether you are on your own or serve the same Master as the Orcs headed in this very direction, you are coming with me."
