If my artists don't come back soon then I might not let them come back. I have worked every single day except for christmas eve when we were out of town. I even worked christmas day. My artists all left without a word 4 weeks ago and I have needed them badly since then! If anybody is interested in game art or music and doesn't mind the fact that I can't pay right now then please hit me up. Anyone who helps at all gets their name in the credits and we can discuss payment if you help out a lot (it will have to be a small percentage of the eventual profit, and probably capped after a few years).
You must fit the following criteria:
You must keep details about the game secret until the first public pre-release.
You are interested in game development.
You are not in it for the money (you won't make much, if anything at all).
You have played strategy games before and you don't hate them.
You don't hate cutesy or moé art styles.
You don't hate realistic, chibi, or cartoon art styles (I haven't yet decided which of these styles will be used).
You can log in to the group google doc at least about once a week to check in. You don't need to log in every day, but 4 weeks without a word is unacceptable. If you will need to leave for an extended time period then let me know first or after the first few days at most -- don't leave me wondering if you will ever come back like I am right now with my current team.
You won't get your feelings hurt if I ask you to change or redo something, or if I decide not to include something that I asked you to create.
Art team: 3D artists specializing in human models
You have used Blender before or are willing to learn
You are okay with working with nudity in 3D models (the game will not have nudity but one program that we use creates models without clothes and you will need to be okay with models not having clothing until you create something for them to wear).
Art team: 3D artists specializing in non-human models
You have used Blender before or are willing to learn.
You must be able to model objects in 3D, or be willing to learn how to do so. Unlike with the human models, I don't know of a program that does the rough draft for you, so you will have to model trees, rocks, etc from scratch.
Art team: 2D artists specializing in textures
You are able to use tools like GIMP or Photoshop to create square textures for 3D models
You are able to work with the 3D artists to create textures for their models.
Art team: 2D artists specializing in backgrounds
You are able to use tools like GIMP or Photoshop to create backgrounds, splash screens, loading screens, etc
You must be able to figure out which tools to use and how to use them by yourself because I know next to nothing about sound so I won't be able to help you very much.
Development is fast-paced. My parents strongly hinted to me this fall that I need to be earning money by this summer or I could be kicked out of the house. I am not sure if they will actually do so but I want to try to get this game ready to sell by this summer just in case.
I am the only programmer and I would probably like to keep it that way for the first game. I need help with art and sound, but I have the programming pretty much covered.
The game will support at least Windows PC, Mac, Linux, and FreeBSD, and at least one of either Android or web browsers.
