I just watched legend of Aang and it has changed my life

I have so many words and no words at all starting with

DAMN EVERYONE WAS HOT AS FUCK

Like lets go one by one shall we?

Aang: THAT BOD IS CRAAAZY. Like so hot. Those muscles are SCULPTED from stone. Like built like a greek god. And he is also so feminine as well? Like he is in touch with his feminine side and it is so attractive. He cries which is super attractive bc hes in touch with his emotions and isnt afraid to show them. Hes so hot physically but hes also protective and at the same time trusts his friends to make decisions on their own. He is loyal and pure and respectful while also being brave, incredibly strong both in spirit(more fem trait) and physically(that man could pin me to the wall and i would not get mad). Hes also super adorable and so true to his original fun loving self. If i had to marry a man it would be him because he is the perfect man. 10/10 no further comments (but like hes SO pretty when he cries, SO PRETTY!)

Katara: GOD SHES HOT! Like she is so badass motherfucker. She KICKS ASS and she is still so strong despitw everythings shes been through. Her body is tea fr. PERFECT curves PERFECT hair - HER HAIR IS SO LUSCIOUS - she moves like water (haha) so smoothly and strongly. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS SO BEAUTIFUL!

Zuko: HES SO FEM AND BEAUTIFUL!! Hes so peaceful but also sassy and i love him bc hes so HIM. Like hes so amazing and so cute and DAAAAAAAAMMMN. HES BUFF. Like he too is SCULPTED. And on his face you can often see his emotions vulnerable and out on his face just like theyve always been. Hes still the same cutie and is also SO FINE. And HIS HAIR. Like you cant tell me that wasnt a struggle for him. Like that def wouldve reminded him of his father (why was is short in the comics hmm HMM?) and he still got over it and now he has an absolutely gorgeous head of hair. And hes such a kind friend too. PEAK

Sokka: HES STILL GOOD OLD SOKKA!! Hes funny, smart and he also has gains! He doesnt let the discrimination about non-benders get to him but he also stands up for his ideas. He still being himself even through everything. Hes also very BAMF (lets be honest they’re all BAMF) but he is still so cool and amazing, coming into save the when lest expected as he always does. Hes doing an excellent job of being the HOT nerd. Hes also SUPER CHARISMATIC?! Like i didnt realize he had that much charisma but he BLOOMED and is totally using his newfound self confidence to his advantage 😏

Toph: HOT DAMN DONT GET ME STARTED! She is SO HOT A LESBIANS WET DREAM! She is so buff and could toss me around like a rag doll but could also pick me up bridal style. She is literally so cool! Shes so masculine and so sassy and the same blunt Toph as ever. So amazing so cool. Shes is probably the one ive been thirsting over since i saw the trailer bc SHES SO FREAKING HOT! So amazing. Beautiful in the way that a dumbbell or polished stone sculpture. Beautiful.

Honestly i love how the studio was fucking with the gender roles. Like we have feminine and in touch with their emotions men and strong and sassy masc women.

Next: ✨ Relationships ✨

Aang x Katara: ABSOLUTELY PEAK! You can see how much they love eachother in every glance and i LOVE IT! I have always been a kataang shipper and they are even better as adults. Like they have a healthy loving relationship that i admire so much and theyre both so open about their love. Ngl i had my doubts occasionally but you can tell they’re soulmates. Also both of them are so BAMF. Like TALK ABOUT A POWER COUPLE. Imagine those two beating your ass and looking hot while doing it. I love the dynamic.

Zukko x Sokka: IVE BEEN A ZUKKA TRUTHER SINCE DAY ONE BABY! THEY ARE NOT BEATING THE BI4BI allegations! THEY LOOK AT EACHOTHER THE SAME WAY KATARA AND AANG DO! THEY ARE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER! So silly and pure. I like this alot and loa has only given me fuel for my fire. When they talked about eachother it was with lots of fondness. ALSO SOKKA CALLED ZUKO CUTE! SO YEAH (and them being the og klance with keith voice zuko is not disproving my case 😏)

Zuko & Toph: Peak sibling dynamic. I love how Zuko is protective of her and how they give eachother grief. Peak sibling dynamic they work well together and i love it.

Finally- The Gaang - GOOD LORD SEEING ALL OF THEM TOGETHER TURNED ME INTO FOAMING AT THE MOUTH GUY! LIKE THEY ALL WORK SO WELL TOGETHER?! SO FLAWLESS AND HOT! If imma die i hope those baddies are the last thing i see! They have a great dynamic reinforced by trauma bonding and lowkey i could ship them as a polycule romantically if i didnt see them as being better as friends. (I am a bit of a multishipper bc i like the idea of the gaang being a weird queer polycule, romantic or otherwise) Bit overall they were SO HOT! And also super ride ir die for eachother which really made them feel like they were eachothers family

Head Cannons

Zuko: AuDHD bitch right their. Yessir thats an audhder for sure. The bluntness and open emotions on his face as well as just vibes. Like he gave me major autism vibes in the show (rlly bc i know what masking looks like) but now i feel like now that he isnt so damn depressed (also products of being neurodivergent) he isnt masking as much abd im getting MAJOR ADHD (inattentive dreamy type) from him as well as the still stunted literalness of autism. Hes one of those cases where the ADHD and the autism go in such opposite directions that they “cancel eachother out” and from the outside he looks neurotypical

As for sexuality he’s definitely attractedto men (COUGH COUGH THE COMMENT ABOUT THAT GUY COUGH COUGH.) Also can we talk about how everyone was so shocked at that remark? Like they did NOT know. I think he (and everyone else) would think hes straight bc hes only been with girls but then in his twenties hed have a sexuality crisis and realize hes gay. To me, him and mai have always felt like best friends/qpp/lavender couple. I think he was closeted and didnt know it but after a couple “hes attractive” moments hed start to realize something about himself.

Also this might be from the gay vibes but he was giving STRONG androgyny and non binary vibes to me. Id say hes cis but he also feels a little genderfluid to me even if he doesnt know it. Theres two options here 1) hes gay which is why he looks so fem 2) hes genderfluid which makes just as much sense. Either one of these is a working theory in my mind so its whatever but i do yearn to look like him.

Sokka: THAT MAN IS ADHD INCARNATE BABY! YEAH! Like that is pure neurodivergency if i have EVER seen it. He builds things bc its his special interest, has a lack if emotional regulation that makes him come off as “too much or too excited” (obvi you can tell the gaang doesnt care about this at all bc they love sokka but irl that would get people going “youre so annoying”). Also anither thing is everyone thinks of him as silly or stupid just because he is always announcing what goes on in his brain and saying it aloud. He also thinks of strange solutions others wouldnt. He does impulsive things (pulling zukos hair (but also Zuko ddint seem to mind which goes BACK TO MY THEORY WHERE THEYRE BOYFRIENDS-) without thinking) and stims (the flying and flapping around thing when aang and whats his name were doing airbending together). HE IS SO ADHD CODED AND SO ME FR I WILL FIGHT ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE TRY ME BITCHES.

As for his sexuality he is the epitome of a bi disaster and he is cis in my opinion but lowkey wouldnt care what someone gendered him as. Like he would just use he/him out of convenience but hed also absolutely tear you a new one if you misgendered someone else.

Aang: pansexual and i want to say cis bc he is a man but he also has some forms of genderfuck going on. That man will bend gender roles and will exhibit positive masculinity. He prefers masc terms and is comfortable with the idea of being a man but would also wear a dress to fight queer phobia.

Katara: straight and cis but and ally for sure. Shes one of those people that wouldve experimented with their sexuality and gender only to realize that they are in fact cishet.

Toph: RADIATING MASC LESBIAN ENERGY. Like personally i think she’s aromantic (allosexal) bc she had two lids from different fathers and still decided to fly solo with apparently no hang ups about either man. BUT SHE DOES GIVE STRONG LESBIAN VIBES. Shes like an aromantic cosplaying as a lesbian. She also gives me strong autism vibes. Like shes blunt and doesnt recognize social cues and hates certain textures. Like you wouldnt clock her as autistic right off the bat but it is there just a little bit. She also has a bit of nonbinary energy but she is also very much a woman. Like shes so much of a woman it bleeds into nonbinary. Idk if that makes sense bit i also dont gaf.

Side Characteeerrrs

Lowkey not my jam bc im rlly here for the main cast.

I did like the villain guy, he was nice to look at and i think it served really well to show the audience what aang couldve been but wasnt. Which only served to highlight Aangs character. He was a good very good contrast to aang and they set him up really well with subtle foreshadowing to show hed be the villain. I liked him alot 8/10

That one girl who turned good at the end: liked her and my only complaint is that we didnt get more of her backstory. Or even her name for that matter (good chance i just didnt catch it tbh)

The woman airbending avatar: GORGEOUS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! I LOVED her sm although it was kinda crazy how she basically became a god on earth by knowing energy bending. I liked her alot and i thought she was a cool piece of lore

That cat pig ape thing: lowkey i think someone just wanted to draw anthropomorphic animals.

The sand bending avatar guy: hilarious i love him even if he only showed up for a moment

But once again i rlly dont have much to say about the side characters bc i was their to see the adult main cast.

Overall:

THIS MOVIE WAS FRICKIN AWESOME

I loved the gorgeous animation. Like the lighting was amazing the BACKGROUNDS looked like they came from Avatar (the blue people) and they were SO DETAILED WITH EVERYTHING. Obvi the human anatomy was really on point. Im sure they had fun drawing that 😏. The lighting again is something i was obsessed with but i am also a fan of the colors they used. Like the color palette and contrasts were so good. And even though the animation wasnt exactly like the show, it was still peak. I loved the animation they ddi for the movie and i feel like you can tell they really poured everything they had into this cartoon.

Even though ik that this is partially to capitalize off of the people who watched avatar in 2010 so they can thirst over the adult versions of them, i do feel like they did their best to make a good movie with a good plot, that even filled in some holes/answered some questions i had about Legend of Korra. The movie stayed true to all the cannon things the show, the comics, korra and their werent rlly any plothes that i could spot. (Then again i am glazing this movie and not super paying attention to flaws) but i do feel like my eyes were blessed fr.

And they voice acting was amazing too. All the characters felt like they were still themselves, just aged up. And that was one of my favorite things because i really didnt want them to mess it up. But they all felt super true to their characters and even their voices sounded super close to just being aged up versions of their voices.

I am super happy about this movie and im definitely gonna consume a crap ton of this content while also rewatching the movie as many times as possible. And the art at the end of the gaang looking happy and all family like made me want to cry fr. Like its so much nostalgia and love? Like i feel the same way seeing art of them being good friends/family as when i look at my own friends being happy. I know its weird but i love them so much guys and this movie was so good and just what the doctor ordered.

saw a silly little autistic zuko post joking about capturing the avatar being zuko's hyperfixation because regaining his honor was his special interest and it was very silly, very funny, but! my brain has decided to take it entirely too seriously (as one does) and so I feel the need to say:

the dao are a special interest (info dumps about them to Lee)

theater may or may not be a special interest (states a clear opinion vs the ember island players re: their ability to portray a play he's personally familiar with)

Capturing the avatar was a job. He was given instructions and he did his best to follow them.

Regaining his honor was a trauma response. He was told that doing [ambiguous, undefined thing] would make him a Person Worthy of Love, Praise, And/Or Connection, therefore he did his best to [complete ambiguous, undefined goal]. That's Zuko trying (and failing, and being punished for failing) to mask. That is Neither a special interest nor a hyperfixation; it's a compulsion. Zuko has no opinions on capturing the avatar or having honor (at least until he has his dramatic realization confrontation with his dad); instead, he does his best to do those things because he's been told that he has to. Both special interests and hyperfixations require a level of passion that Zuko never really achieves for either capturing the avatar or regaining his honor; instead, both of those are acts of desperation, which, while landing in the same general zone of intensity and kind of emotion as passion, is distinctly different in that it's typically motivated by a kind of fear rather than joy.
