Well, having Erza not use her armor is a bit like Natsu not needing his flames. I mean, it's her power. It makes me wonder how much 'magic' goes into fueling her physical abilities or whatever because it seems like she isn't even using magic sometimes.

Very good point. Although I think Erza's power comes more to how she uses her armor rather than which armor she uses. Her magic is Requip, so it's pretty much just swapping of the armor which have different characteristics fueled by her magic as well. I don't think using all the armor she has is that a big part of her magic. So Erza unlike most mages pretty much relies on her own strenght with the aid of the armor she thinks is suitable for th opponent e.g. for natsu the flame empress armor, for juvia the sea empress armor . That woman seems to not need magic to be badass. It's similar to Bacchus who uses martial art rather than 'flashy' magic like Natsu and the make mages.

You're right, but I just think it's a shame that Erza hardly ever seems to use any of the options available to her anymore. Busting out the 200 sword spam and so on. She might use armors for a one-panel attack only to get them broken or something (like last chapter).

It's true, she has a lot of armor but using the same one to win every time both frustrates me and makes me think 'At least she has grown strong in a way she doesn't need to hide behind her armor anymore. It was pretty much the point of the tower of heaven. I don't mind the nakama power, I actually love it to be honest, because magic has already been explained (by Lucy as the one magic) to be fueled by emotions so to me it makes sense and thats what the manga is about anyway. Course love would be the strongest emotion possible. Welll at least mashima remembers she does have other armor xD

I guess I'll be worried about Erza now though, but we're probably going back to the future Lucy plot which i don't mind at all.

I bet Erza could win by remembering she has actual magic and stuff.

I don't know really, I think she's done enough with Kagura, and her foot needs medication, plus her body looks like a used table cloth to be frank. To win against Minerbitch who completely trashed Lucy (who has really improved a lot) and kept up with both healthy Erza and Kagura would be the real slap in the face. Someone else has to take over although I have a feeling we won;t get to see the fight and the games will be revealed to be just a con for the power soon by the title of the next chapter. Yep I think we're switching back to Lucy and co and shit is finally about to get real folks.
