Adventures in Imagine Cup 2018 - Breakfast Edition

Seattle is one of my favorite cities in the world as it is a melting pot of cultures, giving rise to a vibrant culinary landscape filled with creative artisans passionate about their craft. 

Here’s a quick look at some of my favorite breakfast hangouts in Seattle:

1. Storyville Coffee.

Whenever I land in Seattle, I will always make it a point to visit Storyville Coffee for a cup of latte with almond or coconut cashew milk. It is a fragrant caffeine blend that will satisfy any coffee enthusiast and connoisseur.

Besides its great coffee, I would also highly recommend its Tomato Soup with a toasty croissant. It is chicken soup for my soul: delicious, comforting, and familiar like a bowl of home-cooked soup by my mother.

Another great recommendation is Esther Mae's Granola with Fresh Fruits and Yogurt. It is a satisfying and healthy meal that will provide you with all of the energy to start your day on the right foot and take on any new challenges.

2. Anchorhead Coffee.

Anchorhead Coffee is another cafe which I keep returning to savor its latte, cold brews, and the famous Quaffle which is a cinnamon roll made out of croissant dough, and smashed in a waffle iron, served with pure maple syrup.

During the hot summer weather, one of the best beverages to quench your thirst is the cold brew with thick chocolate milk. 

3. Starbucks Reserve.

Starbucks Reserve is a local institution that serves delicious coffee and cold brews, complimented by savory pastries and desserts by Princi Bakery.

My top recommendation is the Cold Brew Malt: a perfect blend of refreshing cold brew, fragrant vanilla ice cream, and chocolate bitters to create a malty smooth concoction that is sinfully delicious.

My favorite desserts from the Princi Bakery comprise of the popular Tortino Cioccolato and the decadent Princina Cake which is a slice of rich chocolate goodness.

My top summer drink recommendation has to be the Nitro Cold Brew with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which is surprisingly refreshing without being too sweet.

4. Lola Restaurant.

My breakfast list would be incomplete with renowned chef and author Tom Douglas' Lola Restaurant which utilizes local ingredients paired with modern, Greek-influenced flavors that keeps customers coming back for more.

My top recommendation is the classic Lola Breakfast: two eggs, smashed garlic fried potatoes, and toast served with pork-maple sausage and smoked bacon.
